"I'm gonna kill you Cecil!" Will yelled angrily. He was dripping with wet paint. A bucket being triggered under his door step. He saw Cecil, one of his best friends, running from his hiding spot under a nearby tree.

Deciding chasing him wasn't worth it, he pulled out his phone and typed in Cecil's number.

YOU ARE SO DEAD.

He didn't put in any exclamation marks. It was a threat. He would be pranked back so much harder. Will would make sure of that.

His phone buzzed in his pocket. Will pulled it out to read who texted him. It was Cecil.

Why am I dead? Should I be worried? Did you get the wrong number?

First Will thought it was another prank Cecil was pulling. But just to be sure he checked the number. It was a wrong number.

Will mentally face palmed as he texted this person back.

I'm so sorry I think this is a wrong number. That was for my idiot friend Cecil. I'm Will.

...

Those little speech bubbles as the person was texting back filled Will's mind with panic. What if he had said the wrong thing. What if the guy thought he was a weirdo.

I wouldn't want to get on your bad side then. What did Cecil do, Will?

The guy was already using Will's name and Will wanted to know his in return.

Tell me your name first.

Hmmm.... Should I?

Yes.

Now Will was curious. Was this guys name embarrassing or hard to say. Why didn't he want to tell him. Or was he just teasing.

What do I get out of it?

Making deals already? I'll tell you what my friend did if you tell me your name .

Will smiled at his phone. He was happy to be talking to this guy. For some reason it felt ... natural.

Fineeeee.

My name's Nico.

Nico, Will thought. Nice name.

Cool name.

Thanks. Now tell me William, what did your friend do?

Will laughed. Nico was curious. He read the text again. William? He had a memory of someone calling him William at school once. He didn't remember who said it though.

William?

When Nico didn't instantly reply he immediately thought he had done the wrong thing. He shouldn't have pointed it out.

Yeah, that's your full name... Right?

Yeah.

Okay. Tell me the story.

I walked out of my house cause I was called by my friend and I walked out to get drenched by a bucket of paint triggered on the door.

Hahaha. Doesn't sound so fun.

No it wasn't.

"WILL!" He heard his sister yell from inside the house. She swung open the front door a bucket flinging upside down but since it was already empty she didn't get covered in a horrible shade of brown paint.

She looked at him, still sticky and wet, sitting on the porch steps texting. "Why are you all dirty?" Kayla asked.

"Cecil. He pulled another prank," Will answered still not looking up from his phone, waiting for Nico to respond.

I'm worried for Cecil now.

Will laughed. Kayla frowned at him and walked forward. "Who're you texting that's more important than getting clean?"

"I am clean Kayla," Will insisted. "Just a little messy."

Kayla gestured to his clothes and hair that held splotches of red, blue, and whatever colors Cecil got his hands on. "Just a little messy? Go get a shower."

Will stood up. "Fine."

Hey Nico I have to go now. My sister is making me clean up since I'm uh covered in paint.

He stared at the message he was about to send. He wasn't sure if he should. Crossing his fingers, he pressed the send button.

I had fun texting you. Wanna chat later?

He was basically asking him to be his friend. It was just a wrong number, and Nico was just curious. Will doubted Nico wanted to talk again.

Alright William. Till next time.
