Liam's POV

"Liam! Looking for Claire?" Jake asked as he leans against the locker beside me.

"Yeah. Where is she?" I asked.

He replied, "Soccer field."

I rolled my eyes. "Playing football?"

He shook his head. "No. When I saw her, she was talking to Ethan James Valden."

My eyes widened. "She's talking to that dimwit?!" I spat loudly.

He rolled his eyes. "Chillax Bro! The guy looks kind."

I scoffed, "No! He's NOT kind. He's the total opposite of kindness! You don't know him!"

He was about to open his mouth to speak but I wasted no time. I immediately headed to the soccer field in a fast but stern pace, wearing a angry expression. I ignored all the questioning and wondering looks from others as I walk to my destination.

I looked around the soccer field, looking for Claire or Ethan.

Ethan always gets what he want, but not this time. It has been rumoured that he likes Claire; for her looks and body. He wants Claire to sleep with her, but I know that Claire won't let that happen. She knows better than that. She's not like any other girls who slept with Ethan. No. I'm sure of it.

"Claire, want to go out with me tonight?" I heard Ethan ask. Instantly, my head snapped at the bleachers.

There, I can see Claire's intimidating and shy look towards Ethan's flirtatious smirk that doesn't seem work on Claire. I knew it.

"I'm sorry, Ethan. I don't think so," Claire replied, causing me to smirk.

"Well, how about some other time?" Ethan asked.

She shook her head. "Never. Ethan, I know your intention. But I'm sorry, we can only be friends."

Good. Friends. Wait, WHAT?! Friends?! They can't be friends, Ethan's a bad influence. Well, even though I know Claire won't be influenced. I just want to be sure. Claire has been very special to me even though for a short period of time in meeting her personally.

I walked towards them and said in a monotone voice, "Claire. We have to go."

She tilted her head in confusion. "Why? Is something wrong?"

I nodded sternly. "Yes. Something's very wrong. You and Ethan are hanging out, it's not good. It's very STUPID."

"Liam, will you mind your OWN business. Claire and I are very close friends. So just shut up and find a substitute for Claire as your feeling-close friend," Ethan interjected.

"Ethan, would you shut up?! Look, you can't have Claire. She's not what you think you can fool with money or your looks. She can do better than you!" I spat out.

"Look, Liam. Calm down. Don't worry, I'm going with you to knock some sense in your mind!" Claire said.

I stared at her with a determinated look. "Sure."

...

...

...

"So, Liam. Why are you so mad?" Claire asked calmly.

"Claire, you shouldn't be friends with Ethan. He's not who you think he is," I said.

"Why? He's kind."

Ugh. "Claire, you thought wrong. Claire, Ethan slept with almost all the girls here in Welsh High School. There's a possibility that you are the only one he hasn't sleep with."
