Chapter 40: In Love

Ken's POV

I can't believe I have to do this...

(Flashback)

"Ken, may I ask you a favor?" Liam asked.

I cocked an eyebrow. "What is it?"

"Well....promise me."

"What?"

"That you won't back away."

"Huh?"

"Just promise me, okay?"

I rolled my eyes. "Fine."

He sighed. "Can you ask something to Claire?"

I shot him a questioning look. "What?"

He inhaled and exhaled. "Ask him what would she feel if someone courts her."

I sighed. "Why not YOU ask her?"

"It would be....obvious."

I laughed. "You like her, huh?"

He shook his head. "It's more that that."

My eyes widened. "You guys just met! You LOVE her already!"

He three his hands up in the in frustration. "What can I do?! I fell in love with her. You can't dictate the heart...."

I chuckled. "Oh my God. The 'never-falling-in-love' bad boy is finally in love."

"Hallelujah!" I shouted.

He rolled his eyes. "Just do it," he commanded.

I rolled my eyes. "Fine..."

(End of Flashback)

I'm doing this for Liam because I don't want him to be lonely. I mean, I can see they way he looks at Celine and Jayden or Luke and Liza. Full of jealousy. He for sure wants a girlfriend.

I went to the soccer field and saw Claire sitting on the bleachers.

I walked towards her and got straight to the point, "So...Claire, ask you something?"

She smiled. "Sure. What is it?"

"What if....someone courts you?"

She started thinking then answered, "Well....it depends to the guy. I mean, I just can't say 'yes' to every guy who's courting me, right?"

I nodded. "Right."

"Well, what if a close friend of yours court you?"

She smiled. "It still depends on my feelings for him."

I nodded. "Thanks, Claire."

She replied, "No probs. But....why are you asking those questions."

I shook my head. "Nothing. For fun."

I mentally slapped myself for almost saying, 'For Liam.'

She nodded frankly. "Okay."

I nodded and went for next class.

Liam's POV

"LIAM!" called out Ken as he walked towards me and leaned against my car beside me. He then replied, "Claire told me it depends if she has feelings for the guy."

I nodded. So...the courtship will be tomorrow. What am I going to do?

Ken chuckled. "Your nervous, huh?"

I nodded and sighed. "Yeah. It's been long since I had a girlfriend."

"And my past relationships ended badly," I muttered.

Ken shrugged. "Maybe its because you either cheated on them or actually wasn't interested," he deadpanned in 'matter-of-fact' tone.

I sighed. "I know. I was a bad boyfriend. But to Claire, I'll try to be the best boyfriend she'll ever have."

He laughed. "Wow. So much goals in life."

I scoffed, "This isn't just a goal. This is like...my chance to show to everyone I'm not a cheater. Courting Claire would be hard, but I am determined to make her say yes."

He rolled his eyes. "Your in love, alright."

I chuckled. "I am. And I know that Claire and I will have a good and long relationship."

Ken smirked. "Ooo...planning for the future. Next thing, your already planning for your wedding."

"Shut up, Ken."

Claire's POV

Every time I see Liam, I get butterflies.

I really am in love with him. We both know we have feelings for each other, that's for sure.

When he told me he loves me, I got feels. My heart melted like a melted butter and my heart started beating loudly like a drum.

Crazy right?

In a good way....though.

I mean, the feelings amazing. I never loved a guy before, only liked.

Other than crushes, likes, I never loved any guy before.

And I am now.

Oh.....I, Claire Marissa Williams, is in love with a hot and handsome guy, Liam Xavier Collins.

This is madness...in a good way.
