OK, so in the fandom, when it comes to the term sparkbond, there are two fans. We got those who are all "You get to choose your sparkbond" the usual, then you got the fan who's like "Nah, Cybertronians had their sparkmates chosen before they were even created" Of course those who follow the second option are more likely to ship Human/Cybertronian so that it's easier for them and more of an excuse
Personally, I want to add in my own two cents in this whole headcanon.
Now, before anything, yes I know Conjux Endura exists. But this is bonding, not marriage so personally I won't count it into this fanon mk?
Alright.
I believe it's a mixture of both.
Limmie explain.
For Cybertronians, while they do spend time searching for their soul mate, it's not a life threatening thing if they don't find them. If anything, it's more of a better experience. Soul mates who bond have an even stronger bond than sparkmates who aren't soul mates. Not to mention, they have a higher chance of getting along with each other than two who aren't soul mates
Now, some Cybertronian philosophers would discourage the idea of sparkmates, stating that it's a waste of time for one that could instead be better spent into something else, something more beneficial for society. Others also mention that it's not exactly "love in its truest form" compared to a non-soulmate relationship that is built on hardships than something that's been predetermined.
So, as you can see, it's rarer to find soulmate sparkmates than an average sparkmate, as no one wants to waste time on that.
Unless of course you're in war and you literally run into everyone if you didn't die that is.
When the war started, tons of bots and cons dead right? But a majority of the living would mention something of feeling chassis pains or something like feeling depressed, but most dismissed it off as the horrors of war.
Something else that also makes a soulmate bond different from a normal sparkbond:
-Soulmates will both die if one of them died while they are sparkbonded.
-Non-Soulmates however, if one is dead, the other can survive.*****
THERE
HERE'S MY TWO CENTS ON THIS SUBJECT
It's just that I like both concepts, so I decided on merging them
You're welcome on using this concept if you want, a hundred others probably came up with this before me because I'm too old for noobs latest ideas and too slow too
Have fun y'all, and one last comment:
I LOVE ALL YER OCS MK? ALL OF THEM. NONE ARE BETTER THAN THE OTHER MK?
~Grandma Nurse will leave it just like this
