I woke up at 4:30 in the morning due to my horrendously vivid nightmare. I saw everything in chaos. Dead bodies littered the ground and the sky was blood red. Screams and cries for help were all you can hear besides gunfire. The worst part was I was the on killing everyone. I had no control over myself, but when I did I was gagged and chained in a stone room that smelled of mold. I saw an arrangement of weapons placed before me and a hand choosing which it'd use to kill me with. I wasn't aware of the fact that I was floating until I was pulled down to the ground. The hand finally chose its weapon and I heard a raspy and deep voice from behind me ask me many questions. I wasn't able to answer since I was gagged, but he still used the butcher's knife to cut one finger off each time I didn't answer. I could feel the pain course through my body as the blade cut through bone and the sweat rolling down my face seemed to drown me. The blood from my hand dripped onto the floor and echoed across the room. When I had nothing left but my arm, the voice proceeded to cut it off, but he did it badly on purpose so I'd feel more pain. The pain was so bad I passed out and that's when I woke up.
"What?" I murmured as I sat up in bed. Sweat was actually rolling down my face and my breathing was very off and forced. I proceeded to go to back to sleep, but I heard a distant sort of hum. I got up and felt the cold floor on my toes. I walked towards the noise I heard as the sound got slightly louder. I went downstairs even though it seemed awfully creepy. Who'd be up at this time? I went to the left of the stairs instead of the right which led to the kitchen. I opened a door and saw Ty………… training?
Ty stopped and looked at me," What are you doing?"
"Uh, nightmare." I said as he looked at me with curiosity," Better question is what are you doing here?"
"Training." He said while walking towards me.
"Obviously, just because I'm not human doesn't mean I'm dumb." I say sarcastically.
"Harry has me train in case those bad aliens come." He said like a child.
"Oh, that's good because I don't want to have to save you in case that does happen." I said mockingly.
"Yeah right, I'd have to save you!" he said pushing me.
"Really? Let's go then." I said accepting his challenge to a fight.
"Choose your weapon." He said showing me all their weapons. I decided to go for a staff since those were pretty easy to use.
"I'll try not to break your arm." I said with a smirk. I could tell he was trying to figure out my next move. I quickly moved my staff behind his and yanked it towards me . He came closer to me due to the force of the yank and I kicked him as soon as he was in leg reach. He fell down and his staff fell next to my foot. He quickly got up and ran towards me, but I hit him in the stomach and he stumbled back.
"This isn't even a challenge." I said boredly.
"Wait, do you hear that?" he said with his hand up.
"Yeah, it's that humming that led me here." I said while putting my staff down since we weren't going to fight anymore.
"The training room doesn't hum." He said cautiously. He went back to the weapon shelf got a sword and a dagger. He tossed me the dagger and motioned for me to follow him. We went out of the training room and went outside.
That's when I saw my very first Mogadorian ship hovering above the ground while Mogadorians came piling out.
"Go get Pi- Thomas I mean, yeah get Thomas!" I said while standing my ground. I saw their faces when they turned and I was automatically urged to throw up. A couple of Mogs came running towards me and I prepared for my first real fight. I ran to the first one and sliced his neck open realizing I spilled my first Mogadorian blood. I would've stood there shocked, but the others advanced as the body turned to ash. One tackled me while the other prepared to shoot me with its blaster. I was crippled under the Mog' s weight. I heard the blaster as it was about to go off, but when it did I wasn't dead.
Before I had time to think, the Mog was pushed off of me and shot by a blaster. I looked to my left and Harry standing there with the blaster. He pulled me up and I went over to Pikus and the group of Mogs before him. He was effortlessly slicing them to nothingness. I could tell it really wasn't as effortless as he made it seem. I helped kill one off, but he waved me off and told me," Help Ty! In the house quick!"
I ran back inside and heard Ty scream. I ran upstairs and saw at least 5 Mogs shooting at a closet. What? He must be in there. I snuck up and cracked one's neck before I slit another one's throat. Their bodies turned to ash as I went for the next one, but he got my arm and twisted it so I'd let go off the dagger. It dropped and so did I since he pushed me. I kept moving backwards, but every step he took he got closer to me. I had to use my legacy. I tried to summon it and luckily I felt the numbness consume my hands. I focused on grabbing him and my telekinesis, as Pikus calls it, tightened around him. Then I opened my closed fist making him explode into Mogadorian ash. I got the other two and cracked their necks.
"It's safe Ty." I said as I got up.
"Oh, they're gone?" he asked.
"No, they're right here waiting to open fire when you get out." I said sarcastically.
"You don't have to be so sarcastic!" he said as he came out of the closet.
"Bullet proof closets?" I asked pointing to the closet.
"Yeah, uptight right?" he said dusting himself off.
"More than uptight!" I said.
"Wait, do you here that?" he said holding his hand up. I concentrated my hearing and heard what he did, screams.
I ran back outside and saw Henry on the floor bleeding about as the snow around him turned crimson red. The Mogs were gone, but I could tell they put up a fight.
"Oh, God………" Ty said slowly before running to his uncle's side.
"Pikus we have to do something……" I pleaded desperately.
"We- I can't do anything…… we can't heal him……" he said coldly.
"What can we do?!" I asked him furiously, my sadness and despair fading into anger.
"Nothing, but leave a trail of death and despair wherever you go!" Ty yelled with tears rolling down his face.
"Ty, I assure you we didn't want this!" Pikus said.
"Really?" Ty asked before we saw a beam of light shoot through Pikus' s head. Blood splattered and made the pearly white snow around him a crimson shade of red. His body slumped to the ground revealing a scared- looking yet brave Mog. I felt panic surge through me and I shot towards him like a bullet, it almost felt like I flew to him. I felt my hands go numb again as I punched him hard in the face. As he was falling I grabbed him by the neck and instead of letting him fall on the back of his head, I turned him around and put his face in the snow. My hands began to burn as the Mog struggled to get loose. Then, his head slowly began to burn from my hands. Huh, that's cool too bad I found out about it in this situation. The Mog stopped moving and accepted his death as he turned to ash. I got back up and wiped the Mog ash off my hands. I ran back to Pikus and saw that he was badly injured, the stupid Mog must've had it on safety or something.
I looked to Ty and saw him slumped over his uncle. He was dead.
"He's dead……" I clarified.
"No- No he's not……" he said reluctant to accept reality, reminding me of my younger self.
"Ty, please……" I said.
"Take care of Thomas, I'll stay here for a bit……" he said with all hope drained out of him.
"I'm sorry……" I said slowly.
"Don't be…… he's just a casualty of war……" he said slowly while looking at me with tear brimmed eyes. At that moment I knew we had a long journey ahead of us. Was this what was going to happen to everyone I met? If so, I'm better off dead.
