Daryl's P.O.V:
"So, where did you guys come from?" Rick asked, we had all gathered in the kitchen of the prison and have been "interviewing" Tyreese and Sasha for the past half hour.
"Were originally from Alabama, but we've just been jumping from place to place and ended up here. Scavenging, hunting, traveling, surviving." Sasha wiped the sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand.
"It's been hard, but we've made it this far, both of us being alive and well. I'd say that's a blessing." Tyreese said, he gave Sasha a reassuring pat on her back. Rick nodded,
"I understand, it's been hard for all of us as well. We've lost people an gained people, it's not easy being out there. Especially when there's only two of you. You guys are safe here!" Tyreese and Sasha smiled at Ricks kind words.
They seemed like pretty good people by them explaining their pasts and seeing their personalities through their speech. Tyreese had been a carpenter and mechanic while Sasha was a waitress and helped Tyreese out with cars from time to time.
They were both brother and sister, Tyreese being the older one. They were very close, almost connected to the hip just looking out and caring for each other. Their relationship kinda reminded me of Merle and I. God how I missed Merle...
Merle was my brother, my blood, my kin. That was just looking out for me. He had always beat on me though, if I said or did the wrong thing. He said that he was trying to make me into a man, that it would help out later in life.
If I was just some little boy, then life would simply knock me on my ass and crunch me into the ground without hesitation. Merle didn't want that to happen.
So I guess you could say he was looking out for me, but at the same time he wasn't. It hurt like shit to get beat on by your brother and your dad. It ruins you physically, emotionally, and confidentially.
I hate my dad for what he has done to me and a part of me hates Merle for the exact same reason. My life could have turned out so much different if Merle or my dad hadn't done what they did.
"Daryl...?" A hand was waving in front of my face, snapping me back to reality. I peered down at Taylor's concerned face.
"I'm fine, I was jus' thinkin." Her forehead scrunched a little as she continued to stare at me, concerning.
"I'm fine! My mind jus' went ta Merle." My voice trailed off along with my eyes to the ground.
The last time I'd seen him was before I went hunting back at the campsite. They all went out on a run while I went hunting for some food. Then when they returned, no Merle.
"I'm sorry..." She leaned up and pecked my cheek before giving me a sad smile. She never got to meet Merle but she sure had heard about him. I know Merle would have liked her. Not so sure if Taylor would have liked Merle but ya never know.
Taylor's P.O.V:
After "interviewing" Sasha and Tyreese for the past hour, we all dispersed to our different places while I had been kind enough to show them to where they were staying.
"All the cells downstairs are full, but all of these cells up here have been cleared out and cleaned. Your welcome to any of them." I showed them the row of clean cells to choose from just to the right of Daryl and I's perch. Sasha nodded,
"Thank you so much, you don't know how much we appreciate all that you guys are doing." Sasha gushed, all they had been saying ever since we let them past the gates was "Thank you".
"Oh, it's no prob-" I choked as I felt the taste of vomit in my mouth. Before I could do anything, I was leaning against the wall puking my guts out.
"Hey! Help!!" Tyreese yelled, he and Sasha ran over to me trying to calm me down. I managed to choke back some puke before everyone came running toward me.
"Git outta mah way!" I heard Daryl grunt, pushing past everyone before arriving at my side.
"Hey, hey, it's alright. Ya ok?" He asked, as he pushed back a few strands of my hair out of my face.I didn't answer, I was too light headed to even process what he said.
"Here let me check her out." Hershel appeared at my side with a damp rag, pressing it to my forehead. He prodded my neck lightly with his fingers before grunting and turning away to Rick,
"She's fine, just a little morning sickness is all." He turned to me, "You need to get some rest, honey." His peaceful voice reassuring me.
"Morning sickness? You mean...?" Sasha asked, she was glancing between all of us before returning her gaze back to me, soon realizing what that meant. "Oh my god.. Congratulations!" I could tell she didn't know what to think, what was running through her mind was probably "How the hell can this girl bring a child into a world like this?". I've even thought it myself.
I smiled weakly, before I reached out and gripped onto Daryl's arm as I felt myself slipping to the ground. He caught me, repositioning his arms around my waist in a tight manor.
"I gotcha.." He whispered, everyone cleared a path out of the way for Daryl and I to get through. He directed me to our bed but I refused.
"I need to be in the bathroom, just in case. I don't want to make another mess." I said, referring to the pool of vomit now laying in the floor. He nodded, now moving me toward the bathroom..
