Daryl’s P.O.V:

Rick led me into the prison before shortly stopping me as if caught on what to say..

“She hasn’t been doing well Daryl.. She hasn’t eaten in days, we’ve tried convincing her but she just simply wont..” Rick sighed, running his finger through his sweaty hair.

“She’s stubborn.” I grunted, walking past him to search throughout the prison for her.

I looked in and out of cells finding them all to be empty as everyone had gathered in the kitchen area. I came upon the staircase that led upstairs and to what used to be our perch that remained silent as I looked upon it.

I continued walking up the steps slowly and cautiously, for whatever reason I was nervous. My heart was pounding in anticipation yet throbbing to see the one I love once again.

My eyes spotted a lump in the blanket on the mattress. I would have over looked it if I hadn’t seen the bundle of dark brown hair that lay on the pillow.

“Taylor..”?” Her breath hitched, she laid still and silent as I waited.

Moments passed yet still not movement of any sort from her.

“Taylor..? Baby?” I took a couple more slow steps toward the mattress to be met by her eyes. They were blown wide with what seemed to be the little strength she had left from in her.

“Daryl..” She breathed, I ran to her engulfing her in my arms and picking her up off the mattress, slightly swinging her around.

“I’m so sorry.... I’m so sorry....” I kept repeating as tears welled in my eyes and eventually tumbling down my cheeks on her shirt. She began to sob into my neck and gripping me tighter.  We hugged for what seemed like an eternity. Her soft fingers stroking my head, shoulders, and down my arms. I just held onto her, not wanting to ever even think about letting her go again.

“Daryl, I can’t breath.” I smiled as I brought myself to set her down. I still held her shoulders as I looked into her eyes and took her in.

Her eyes were red with dark circles underlining them. The color in her face had disappeared making her look even weaker which made my heart break.

“I know we gotta lot to talk about but I want ya to eat first.” She nodded softly, still giving off a pained expression.

It seemed the rest of the group had cleared out to give us privacy and to talk everything over. Taylor had been too weak and tired to walk down the stairs without falling so I carefully carried her and planted her down at a table, fixing her up something to eat.

The air began to hold an awkward feeling as she watched me dish out a couple pieces of bread and some canned oranges. Her stare never faltered nor left me the whole time I prepared the food. I set the plate in front of her though she still wouldn’t take her eyes off me, her expression blank and unreadable.

“Please eat.” I asked softly, she dropped her stare to glance down at the plate before picking up the food and slowly eating. I could hear her stomach roaring the whole time we were tied up in each others arms.

She ate slowly but surely until she finished everything that was on the worn, old plate. She picked it up and gently handed it to me giving me the sign she wanted more. I nodded, getting up to fulfill her needs with the food her stomach very much needed.

Again, we sat in silence at the table as she ate her food small piece by small piece. I could already tell she was starting to feel better because she began to sit up straighter and straighter within the minutes she took in the food.

It seemed the longer I sat there gazing at her, the more closer I leaned in, the more my lips longed for hers. My lips soon met hers but I quickly realized that there was something different, she didn’t kiss back. I pulled back and looked upon her face for an answer.

“You left me.” She simply said,

“You left the baby.”
