Liam ended up staying in Cheryl's office for quite a while; the two of them discussing more details that could help them with the case, with Cheryl even going ahead and calling the Metropolitan Police to help her go about getting some security footage from the library – if there was any of course. The two were completely unaware as to how much time passed, until Lily and Sophia came into the office at five on the dot – Lily saying that she was about to head off home and Sophia just coming in to see Cheryl as she had missed her after initially bursting in and saying hello earlier when she'd first arrived. It was then that Liam and Cheryl both decided that it was time to call it a night, though Liam still stuck around and entertained Sophia while Cheryl packed up all her things to go. Once everything was packed up, the three of them left out as well.
"This place is pretty sick to be a law firm," Liam remarked as they stood in the elevator, "The lobby looks like it belongs in a hotel or something."
"Can you tell I did basically all of the interior design even though I'm renting this place?" Cheryl giggled, looking up at him. Liam chuckled softly, nodding his head.
"It does have that feminine touch going on. I'm sure if your brother had been in charge, it'd be boring carpets and walls hey?" he raised an eyebrow. Cheryl nodded her head, this being exactly true as her younger brother wasn't into interior design and such like she was.
The elevator doors soon pinged open, allowing the three of them to step off and head towards the exit. Cheryl felt strangely comfortable walking out with Liam, and part of her actually wanted to ask if he wanted to come to the nearby Mexican restaurant or something with her and Sophia as both of them were hungry and in need of something – and plus Cheryl just needed an excuse to have some Mexican food, it obviously being no trouble for her daughter to go have Mexican food for dinner as well as she hardly ever turned down food, about like Cheryl.
However, before she could muster up some courage to ask, Liam seemed to have plucked up some courage first.
"Erm, hey Cheryl," he nervously began, "If you and Soph don't have anything to do tonight, would you mind if I treat you both to dinner? I know this really great spot that does great Mexican food if you guys like that? I just want to thank you for helping me, and obviously I have to treat my mum's prize kiddo to dinner."
And for some reason, Cheryl felt like her heart had taken flight or something. She didn't know why she felt that way, but she did.
"Sure; we were actually thinking about having Mexican food tonight anyways weren't we Soph?" she giggled before looking down at her daughter who was nodding her head eagerly.
"Liam, do you like fajitas? I like the shrimp and chicken fajitas the most, and I like the corn chips and the dipping sauce too." Sophia enthusiastically asked, bouncing up and down with excitement. Liam chuckled away, nodding his head as he tapped her nose.
"I love all of that, Soph; it's amazing – but my favorite has to be chicken enchiladas with sauce and melted cheese on. It's so good!" he groaned in exaggeration, making Sophia's eyes literally grow twice in size at how good that sounded. She then turned and looked up at her mother, tugging at her hand.
"Come on, pancake; let's go eat! What we still standing here for?" she impatiently asked with a slightly annoyed look on her face. Cheryl and Liam burst out laughing; Liam actually holding his side as they hurt from laughing while Cheryl just playfully flicked Sophia on the nose whilst laughing.
"Alright, egg; let's go then before you steal the car and drive yourself." She smirked. She then looked over at Liam, who was fishing his own car keys from his pocket and going to the car beside hers.
