Cheryl x Liam: Inevitable

Part 14

Few Weeks Later

A few weeks had passed; it was now nearing the end of September. The leaves were turning different colors; the air was getting cooler as the fall was settling in – everything was actually going okay for the most part.

Cheryl and Liam had been seeing each other for nearly a month now, it being a secret to people other than their close family and their closest friends. Sarah, Nadine, Nicola, Kimberley, and Lily knew about Cheryl and Liam, all of them obviously happy for them but Nicola and Kimberley just advised her to be careful to not let their personal feelings intertwine with the upcoming case. Louis, Niall, Harry, and Zayn also all knew about Cheryl and Liam; all four of them extremely happy for their friend as he truly was the happiest he'd ever been.

The one person Cheryl had been initially slightly worried about telling was Sophia. However, she needn't to not be worried at all because once Sophia understood completely, she was over the moon about it. She loved it when Liam would come over to the house and spend time with them, and Liam was always up for a laugh and always up to playing with her, which was great. Cheryl was just glad that they got along so well really and was glad that Sophia obviously wasn't upset about it at all...

Plus, she loved how much Liam adored Sophia; it warmed her heart...

The only dark thing that was still looming over them was the upcoming court case. Cheryl had heard from people that Joe was really doing everything he could to build up the case and make it seem like Liam was some horrible monster or something and that his Sophia was in the right, and she had to admit, she was slightly worried. However, she was more determined than anything else because she knew the real Liam, she knew that he was nothing but a fantastic person with a heart of gold and she just wanted to do everything possible to get his name cleared.

One thing that had also been really concerning her was the fact that JB was calling her quite a bit as well; trying to get her to take some time off and step away from the case. She didn't understand why he was suddenly interested in how much time she was spending at work, but she had finally gotten fed up and told him to fuck off because he was really annoying her. She had told Liam about him calling so much too; it concerning Liam a bit as well but he just told Cheryl to ignore him and to be careful – and of course Cheryl felt safer having Liam around to keep her mind at ease.

Today was a typical day in London; Liam was back at work, Sophia was at nursery, Cheryl was at work in her office, and JB was at work in the office of his restaurant. He was in his own little world when the door opened, causing him to look up from his computer. He gasped straight away at the sight of the three familiar men coming into the office.

Joe Smith and the officers, Carter, and Adam...

The door closed behind them and JB stood up, going to say something before being interrupted when Joe's fist collided with his jaw, sending him flying to the ground. He then felt himself being pulled up by Carter and Adam...

"I told you to tell that bitch to back off that case with Liam." Joe glared at him as he stood directly in his face.

"I tried; I swear I tried okay – I really did try but Cheryl's stubborn; just let her do it and then have it so she loses the case; he'll go to jail if she loses so he'll be gone." JB pointed out, his voice quivering slightly.

"And then the bitch will just continue to appeal it until he gets out," Joe retorted, "I told you to get her off the case but you couldn't do that, so now I'll have to take matters into my own hands."

"Joe I'm telling you man, I'll give you anything you want but don't fucking hurt Sophia or Cheryl." JB pleaded with him. Joe looked at him for a second, breathing out.
