After Liam left for the afternoon, the remainder of Cheryl's day was pretty much plagued with meetings – a lot of them having to do with an upcoming case that she was working on with Tre, Jason, Kimberley, and Melanie; and then others having to do with potential clients who wanted her to represent them. Though she had managed her best to keep her poker face on and smile throughout the day, the phone call from earlier was still weighing heavily on her mind. When five in the evening hit, she packed up her things and raced out of the building as quickly as she could, feeling desperate to get to see her daughter.
The short drive to Sarah's house had been enough to calm Cheryl down some, though of course, everything was still weighing on her mind. She almost hated the fact that her house was so huge and it was only her and Sophia living in the house, as she would have felt tons better if maybe her mother was down from Newcastle or her brother was living in the house. Still, she was trying to push everything to the back of her mind as she knew that Sophia could read her like a book and she didn't want to worry her. After she composed herself, she got out of the car and went up the steps of Sarah's luxurious townhouse, pressing the doorbell button before waiting patiently. A few moments later, the door opened, revealing the taller, blonde haired friend that had been a close confidante of Cheryl's for years now.
Her DJ-ing, actress friend; Sarah Harding.
"Hello dearest half-pint," Sarah greeted her straight away, "Do come in."
"I swear you haven't called me Cheryl in years; my name is actually half-pint in your book now hey?" she smirked as she pecked her cheek.
"Well if you weren't a midget and a lightweight, your name would actually be Cheryl, plus it's more amusing to call you half-pint." Sarah giggled in response. Cheryl playfully scowled at her before the two women made their way into the living room; Cheryl's heart melting as she saw her daughter playing with Sarah's dog, Claude.
"Soph." she called, capturing Sophia's attention as she looked up. The little girl jumped up and bounced over to her, hugging her tightly straight away.
"Hi Mammy!" she burst out, a happy expression etched across her face. Cheryl giggled, leaning down and kissing her forehead.
"Hi gorgeous girl," she stroked some hair behind her ear, "Did you have a good day?"
"Yes; we did paintings at school and then when I came here, me and Auntie Sarah maked brownies!" Sophia replied; her enthusiasm amusing Cheryl and Sarah greatly.
"Yeah; and we saved a whole bunch for you, Chez – I'll put them in a container for you guys to take home though; I've got enough chocolate in this house." Sarah chimed in, running her hand through her hair. Cheryl scrunched her nose up before looking back at Sophia.
