Elise's POV
I opened my eyes looking down my body, my eyes trailed down to my feet where a pool of blood began to form. He lay there choking on each breath he tried to take, "Dad!" I screeched as tears started pouring down my eyes, I began trying to free my arms from behind my back. I managed to elbow his stomach causing him to wince in pain backing off I pulled my self away kicking his knees he stumbled back.
The man stood back up giving me a harsh glare, he was about to lunge at me before a bullet flew through the side of his head. He fell back falling off the side of the building, I looked over to Josh who glanced up from his sniper as he got up and ran off. "I'm so sorry," I whispered dropping down beside my dad who was breathing slowly and faintly. "We can get you help, I promise."
I rested my head down on his stomach I was aching all over and feeling sick to my stomach, he simply placed his hand on the back of my head coaching it with what was left of his energy, "I know you are but Elise it's too late. I lived my life, I got my wish," he smiled faintly at her as she looked over at him, "I got to see you one last time, no matter what you said, you'll always be my best friend and my daughter." He choked on his tears unable to get his breath I whimpered even more hugging him one last time.
"How sad," Cal laughed sarcastically lifting his gun up to my head, my anger and hate for Cal came rushing back, I launched myself from the ground making contact with my fist to his face. He stumbled back as I climbed on to him swinging punches. "Nice try," he smiled up at me before pushing me onto my back throwing harder punches causing me to wince in pain.
The punches were nauseating and made me dizzy, his motives were clear he really did want me dead. Everything was a blur I could no longer see in front of me until I was dragged backwards and from what I could make out, Cal got a taste of his own medicine. "Elise, can you hear me?" Simon's voice made everything clear again, I could see the deep blue in his eyes and how scared they looked. I nodded my head as he pulled me into cover as gun shots were heard, it had become a battlefield.
We were outnumbered but we were still managing, the crowd was thinning out and Cal hadn't shown his face since he hid behind the metal cooler. "Fuck I'm out of ammo!" Jorja yelled throwing the empty clip on the floor.
"Where the fuck is Josh?" I yelled over the various shots that were deafening. I looked over at the metal door we had come through yet there was no sign of him. "Vik lets go!" I tugged on his top and we darted for the door dodging the tons of bullets that were fired directly at us.
It was quiet inside the building, no gunshots apart from the distant ones outside on the roof. We ran halfway before stopping as the door at the other end flung open and a panicked Josh ran through, he kept looking behind him firing the bullets at the odd person who followed behind. "Run!" He yelled as he caught up with us two dragging us along with him. More footsteps were heard from behind, I turned around to catch a glimpse of the heard of people. Josh pulled the proximity mine from his bag dropping it on the floor after activating "Come on!" he yelled as we appeared on the roof.
It was too late, the floor below us began to crack from the impact of the explosion below us, the whole building was coming down. Various screams escaped our mouths as we slid down into the rubble in the middle of what used to be a warehouse. As soon as I stopped tumbling I realised I was separated and in complete darkness, "Guys?" I groaned trying to stand up again on the slab of floor where I landed. Foot steps echoed in the shadow away form the moon, the only light I had.
Click. A shadow of a pistol appeared on the floor and the figure finally came into the light and I was defenseless. "You got what you wanted, just get it over with." I spoke defeated as Cal's smile faded.
"You think I wanted this? No Elise, You brought this on yourself. Shame really." his gun up until that point had lowered, he took a final breath in aiming at my head as I lowered it feeling tears and sickness in my stomach, the same sickness I had felt for a month. I heard the shot but I felt nothing again, just a whimper and a thud.
A pair of arms wrapped around me pulling me tightly into their chest, my breathing was heavy as I turned my head to look at the lifeless man now fall, getting the revenge I wanted. Simon helped me up to my feet wrapping his arms around my waist "Where is everyone?" I looked at Simon who had tears in his eyes.
"We can't find Vik," he breathed out almost breaking down from the tears that wanted to fall down his face which now had many cuts and bruises and was covered in dirt.
Simon lead me to where everyone else was, waiting for Simon's arrival, Jorja stopped crying when she saw my face. She ran over wrapping her arms around me tightly whispering, "I thought I'd lost you," Jorja stroked the tears away from my face, "We don't know where Vik is." she looked down at her feet worrying for the small boys life.
"Help!"
A faint voice cried out from the same direction me and Simon came from. Harry stood up and followed me towards the small cries that became clearer as we reached them. "Vik!" Harry cried running over to the small boy who laid under the rubble, "Don't worry I'll get you out, just stay with me." His voice was panicked and he struggled not to cry. He began lifting the biggest piece of concrete that had crushed Vik's torso, wincing in pain Simon joined in to help.
"Harry stop! I'm not gonna make it even if you do get me out, I'm sorry," Vik held onto Harry's hands, "Put me out of my misery please!" He sobbed, Harry wrapped his arms around Vik holding him tight, "I love you," they whispered in unison before pressing their lips together one last time.
"Harry?" Vik crocked, his voice sore from crying and screaming. "Don't bury me alive, pretty please." Vik giggled, he sure knew how to make the best of a situation, Harry laughed and nodded his head smiling.
"I'll never forget you my little star," Harry whispered choking on his words as he held back the tears, "Josh do we still have the medical kit?" He held out his hand and Josh handed him the small bottle and a cloth.
"If he over doses he will fall into a sleep and not wake up." I added walking over to the other side of Vik placing my hand on his shoulder comfortingly.
Harry undid the bottle as we all took a seat on the uneven excuse for a floor handing it to Vik who he kissed on the cheek one last time, "Bottoms up." Vik giggled taking a large gulp. We all sat around making his last moments worth it sharing fun stories about each other until he his hands went cold and he took his last breath.
Vik was buried in the same field where he proved his shooting skills a few days before, by the same tree.
It was all over.
