Part 9

"Get out of the car, Kelsey. Don't make me repeat myself," Severon said, his voice hard.

"No." I crossed my arms over my chest and stared at the windshield, not sparing Severon a glance.

"Kelsey, get out of the car right now or I'm going to have to do it for you," Severon warned.

"I'd like to see you try." I kept my eyes glued to the front.

The words had just escaped my lips when a hand clamped around my upper arm and with a sharp tug that had me yelping in pain, pulled me out of the car.

"Hey, what the hell?!" I growled.

"You told me to pull you out if I dared," Severon explained. Behind me, I heard the door of the driver's side opening and I assumed the traitor who brought me here had gotten out.

"Yeah well...you shouldn't take everything so literally, what I meant was, don't pull me out because I don't want to get out," I snapped.

"Questa è la tua ragazza?" The man behind me asked. Since he was speaking in Italian, I had a feeling he was talking to Severon. (Is this your girl?)

Severon looked behind me and a beautiful but cryptic smile curved his lips. A strange glint entered his eyes and he gave the man behind me a small nod.

I turned my head to look at the man—who I knew now was anything but an angel. He was a fallen angel, working for Lucifer. Him and Severon seemed to be communicating through their eyes; I knew because sometimes Maril and I used to do the same; and now I had no one to subtly communicate with.

"Sì Adone, questa è la sua," Severon said. (Yes Adone, this is her)

"Stop with the Italian, I'm right here," I said, annoyed.

"Lei è diversa dalla solita preferenza," the fallen angel stated. (She is different from your usual preference)

"Lei mi fa preferire diverso, Adone," Severon replied. (She makes me prefer different, Adone)

"Hello, I'm right here." This was so frustrating.

Severon turned his attention to me, and the look he gave me made my heart pound with some weird emotion. Once again he brushed the underside of my eye with his fingers.

"You're cranky, I told you, you need sleep. Come on, you can sleep for a few hours and then we can do something else once you wake up." Severon took a hold of my wrist.

"No! I'm cranky because you don't leave me alone. And you hired that fallen angel to kidnap me," I complained.

Severon ignored me and begun dragging me towards a grand building. The building looked like a posh apartment complex. It looked freshly painted with the best metal work money could buy.

"Fallen angel?" Severon chuckled eyeing his friend.

"Yes, what is his name anyway?" I glared at his friend.

"His name is Adone." As if on cue, Adone came and stood in front of me.

"Hi, my name is Adone, but you can call me Don." He gave me a warm smile.

"Are you a doctor, too?" I enquired, not aware of the fact that Severon had resumed dragging me into the apartment complex.

"As a matter of fact, I am," Adone replied, walking beside me.

"Can I call you Dr. Candy?" I queried.

"No, why would you wanna call me that?" He looked bewildered.
