Part 13
Opening my eyes felt like a chore. For some unknown reason, it was slightly difficult for me to breathe. Maybe I was sleeping in a strange pose...as usual. Or maybe, my bear was sleeping on me...
Once I worked through the task of opening my eyes, the first thing I noticed was the absence of my bear on top of me. My ears instantly perked up when hearing the harsh sound of waves colliding, as if Poseidon was battling with himself. My olfactory bulb immediately picked up the different scent in the air, totally different from how my room normally smelled.
And I panicked.
Bolting upright, my eyes widened when I did not see my bears anywhere. Fuck my sparrows, where were my bears? They were right here when I went to sleep. Who took my bears? I would hunt that person down and wouldn't rest until justice was served.
But before my murderous thoughts could be formed in a full fledged plan, the sound of Poseidon's ire in the forms of waves crashing penetrated my auditory senses. I turned my head and gasped as I saw cerulean waves flowing over the golden sand. The beautiful green trees, only managed to increase my shock.
Where the hell was I?
Seeing the unfamiliar view, the absence of my bears took a backseat as a new worry settled in the forefront of my brain. Where was I? And who brought me here? Had the aliens finally invaded the Earth? Was this an alternate universe which was the creation of these green beings? If they wanted to bring me to this new planet of theirs, how could they leave my teddy bears behind? How come I didn't remember arriving here?
Taking a deep breath, I looked around, taking in my new surroundings. The room had a pretty floral wallpaper, which was something I liked—the regular, painted walls bored me to death. There was no dresser or any kind of decoration. There were a couple of nightstands on either side of the bed, and the sheer curtains were doing little to stop the sunlight from penetrating through. The room was fairly pretty, but it wasn't mine. And that was enough to incite fear in me.
Just as I removed the floral comforter and got out of bed, a sudden wave of vertigo washed over me. For a second, the world toppled on its axis; but before I could make contact with the cold floor, strong arms wound around me, preventing me from kissing the floor.
"Woah, easy there. Why don't you sit down until the world stops spinning," a familiar voice said.
Once the blurriness faded, I could make out Renzo's familiar, handsome face. He sat me down on the mattress before perching on the bed besides me. I held onto him until my vision was back to normal, and I didn't feel as if I was spinning on my own two feet.
"Wh—What are you doing here? Where am I?" I immediately asked.
"Why don't you rest, you'll feel dizzy for a little while," Renzo suggested, softly.
"How do you know?" I questioned.
Renzo frowned. "How do I know what?" He looked confused.
"How do you know I'll feel dizzy for a while?" I clarified.
"Oh. It's a side effect of the drug," he explained.
Now it was my turn to frown. "What drug? What are you talking about?" I demanded to know.
"Nothing. Look Kelsey, why don't you lie down," he tried again, but I was not going to do anything unless I had answers.
"No. Tell me what are you talking? What drug? What place is this? How did I get here?" I fired off.
"You'll get your answers, Kelsey. But first, try and rest a little. Please," he pleaded.
Frustrated, I stood up, not caring that I still wasn't steady. "No! You answer me right now!" I stated.
