So I met his ex girlfriend today
Like the ex that was the ex before I became his ex
She's so pretty and talented
And above all she looked happy
She was singing gospel songs
Praising The Lord with gladness
I begun to wonder why she was so happy
I wondered if she knew who I was
The girl who replaced her when they were done
Did she hate me when she knew
Or maybe she never gave a damn
She never had the interest to know who her ex had moved to
But most of all I wondered why she was so happy
Always smiling
Did she not love him the way I did?
Did she move on so quickly?
Had she already found something better?
As she sang on stage I fell in love with her personality
Then it stroke me again,
Why didn't he love her? She seemed close to perfect
I admired her
I admired her because she looked like her heart was at peace
While I was struggling with bitterness
She glowed with happiness
While I was seeking the face of God in that church for comfort
She was singing praises to God
Just what made her so strong?
What was her secret
I wanted to be like her
To be happy, to praise God like her
To move on from him like her
I didn't know her or who she really was
But just that presentation said enough
She was expired out of his life
And yet content she wasn't his wife
So tonight I asked God to make me happy
To find joy in my situation
To find that real love which is only of God
And that God never leaves and replaces
He never calls you his ex
Even when we leave him and replace him
We are still his
His first and only love
Never his expired item
Never his experiment
Always his masterpiece
Alway the apple of his eye
