(one year ago) Tamika's POV
"Holly are you ready to go?" I asked my four year old sister who ran to me. She nodded her head and grabbed my hand. "Mum, Dad we're leaving now; we'll return in a few hours" I tell our parents. Who were in the lounge watching the new about a murderer on the loss.
"Bye Mama and Papa" Holly said waving at them happily.
"Be careful Tamika and look after Holly" Mum said hugging Holly goodbye. I nodded my head and Dad came to say goodbye to us.
"Call us when you arrive and when you are coming home" Dad told me. I agreed giving him a hug and we all said our 'I love yous'. It was family tradition to say 'I love you' when we leave each other. I helped Holly into the front seat of my car before getting in the drivers sit. It was a white 2003 Hyundai accent.
I then started to drive to the fair where I was taking my sister. It was a surprise and a late birthday present. She'd been asking to go for weeks, but Mum and Dad always said 'no'. Knowing I was taking her today on my day off. I worked at the local pet shop as a casual worker. Holly didn't know where I was taking her only it was a late birthday gift from me. Our parents gave me $100 to spend on her at the fair. But I also had my own money to pay for somethings.
It was an hour drive to the fair and Holly doze off in her seat. I sent Dad text saying we'd arrived safely. Before nudging Holly to wake her up saying "Holly we're here wake up sweety." She opened her eyes and rubbed them tiredly looking around. When she released where we were she squealed hugging me tightly.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you" she kept repeating.
"Your welcome now we are here all day and well leave at four thirty. It is only 10 now so we have six hours" I told her. She nodded her head and we got out of my car she grabbed my hand. I lead her to the entrance as my phone went off.
From Dad: Have fun sweety look after Holly and yourself :)
"No phone sissy, please just the two of us" Holly whined giving me puppy dog eyes. I nodded my head turning off my phone. We entered the fair and I got tickets so we could go on rides. For the first hour we wondered around deciding what to do first.
Then we went on the Mary-go-round, bumper cars and played at the game booths. I won a few things for Holly and our parents. At 12:30 Holly said she was hungry and we went to the food area. I ordered us a pretzel and drink each. We sat at a table near the sheep dog show. Holly watched as the dogs herded the sheep clapping.
After lunch we went to see all the animals and Holly even patted some of them. I then got us some candy floss and we went the shop area. We brought a few things for ourselves and our parents. The last thing we did before leaving was go on the Ferris wheel. Which became Holly's favourite ride at the fair.
We went back to the car and I put the stuff we brought in the back seat. I went to help Holly do her seat belt. To find she'd already done it and was fast a sleep. I smiled kissing her forehead before shutting the door slowly. Then got into the drives seat and drove us home thinking I had forgotten something.
As I pulled into our street I saw the police in our drive way. The sirens woke Holly up and she said "sissy want's going on?" I didn't answer and told her to stay in the car before getting out. One of the police officers so me and blocked my way.
"Sorry Mame this is crime soon" he said pointing at my house. I saw the door was broken and so were a few windows. Other police officers were coming out with two stretchers.
"But this is my house, I live here with my parents and little sister" I told him. The officer looked at me with pity and sympathy. "No please don't say it" I pleaded looking at the two stretchers with tears in my eyes.
"I am sorry to tell you this, but your parents were murdered. However we got the criminal it looks like he and your father were fighting. You dad died stopping the murderer that was on the loss. There is a 5000 dollar reward for whoever caught the criminal" he informed me.
"I don't want the money, I want my parents lives back" I cried.
"Sissy why are you crying? Where are Mama and Papa?" Holly asked.
"Holly I told you to stay in the car sweety" I said pulling he into a hug. "Do you remember when Uncle Johnny died and he went to heaven?" I asked quietly. She nodded her head and wrapped her arms around my neck. "That's where Mama and Papa are now sweety" I told her and she started to cry.
"I am sorry for your loss Miss Legna, but can you come by tomorrow to identify your parents?" the officer asked I nodded my head. Then an other car appeared behind my car and my grandparents got out. They ran over to us and Grandma hugged Holly & me. Grandpa spoke to the police officer in low whispers.
"You are coming to live with us darlings" Grandma told us. "Tamika I'll be bring you back tomorrow to collect yours and Holly's things. As well as your car ok?" she told me. I nodded and looked at Holly to see she had cried herself to sleep. Grandpa came over and took her from me walking to their car. Grandma and I followed him, I got in the back seat with Holly. Whilst my grandparents got in the front and Grandpa drove us to their house.
