Chapter 2

*Lauren's POV*

"Who are you talking about again?" Normani asked leaning against the locker. Normani.... Where should I start? We met during the time I joined the softball team  towards the end of freshman year. We have been best friends till now. Normani was really popular which made lauren question why they were even friends but Normani helps me in the fields so that's a plus.

You know that stereotype about female softball? Yeah it just popped into your head didn't it? That is not at all true! Normani is straight and most of my friends are.  Well I am in one of those stereotypes as much as I hate it.... I'm gay.
And the whole school knows about this...thanks to Normani my best friend.

My parents always accepted me and I remember how much I cried thinking about how I wasn't normal and was a freak! My mom caught me crying in my room and Its like she just knew.

And my dad hugged me tight and I will always remember his words "We love you for who you are baby girl and if you like girls? It's fine! If you like boys? It's fine! If you don't like anyone at all that's just rude." and he started laughing.

And... My siblings.... Are not that happy about this Chris is okay with it but Taylor just does not even talk to me. She ignores me all the time and when I try to make a conversation she just walks away!  It's been years since I had a sister to sister chat with her. I'm still hoping that one day it'll happen.

"Lauren! Helloo! girl you're zoning out" Normani snapped her fingers in front my face.

"Oh I'm sorry yeah what was I talking about?" I closed the locker taking out my softball kit.

"That childhood friend...Carmila?Canola?"  Normani giggled and we started walking together towards the field.

"Hey! Camila, pronounce it as Cam-ee-luh." I shoved her slightly in annoyance.

"Sure whatever. How come you never told me about the Canola?" Asked Normani.

That's when I felt a knot in my stomach. I never told anyone about her and I wanted to keep it that way because it's in the past and I have moved on. But Normani is my best friend.

Normani gently shook me by the shoulders
"Lauren you are zoning out again. It's fine tell me when you're ready, okay?"

"Okay I will Manibear"

"Last one to the field is a loser!" yelled Normani running ahead of me.

Those words just exploded inside me and it brought back so many memories. I just stood as if the time just froze for a second. I felt my whole world tumbling down.

"Snap out of it Lauren! She left you for good! She is not your camz anymore. Your camz would never leave you! Leave Camila she betrayed you" I heard a voice inside my head. I sighed gently.

"NOT ME" I yelled at Normani and sprinted towards her.
Our laughter echoed into the air.

*Camila's POV*

CamilaCabello: oh...I guess I'll leave you to it then... Good  night!

I dropped my phone on the pillow and just started to recollect what just happened. I feel  completely vulnerable and guilty for being the reason why we drifted apart. But she did not try either you know? How is it my fault? I shook the thoughts away and walked to the bathroom to brush before bed.

I looked at myself in the mirror and saw a stranger. I don't see Lauren's camz. I look up to see my reflection I see Lauren staring at me.

"Who are you? What did you do to my camz?!" She yelled. "Lauren don't you see it's me!! It's your camz! Please look at me!" I yelled back trying so hard to hold my tears back
"Don't say her name! DONT YOU DARE SAY HER NAME!! YOU RUINED US!! YOU RUINED EVERYTHING!! EVERYONE HATES YOU!!" 

She bangs on the mirror and I start screaming. I run away from the mirror, ran to my bed and hid under the sheets.

*Flashback*

"It's fine camz! We're safe here under this fort! Don't be scared okay?" Lauren said holding the sheets up.
"Pinky promise lolo?" I asked still hiding my face with with palms.

"Open your eyes camz I promise I'm here" I heard Lauren whisper into my ears.

I opened my eyes and met her gaze. Her green eyes just made all the monsters go away. I wasn't scared anymore. With her I will never be afraid.

Lauren wrapped her little pinky around my pinky.

"I promise to protect you from all the monsters." she gently kissed my pinky.

"I love you lolo! My little knight!"I giggled.

"I love you too!" And she started tickling me.

*End of flashback*

I flip through the old album I had of us under the sheets. Tracing her smiles, touching her cheeks and suddenly I felt home. I felt safe. I closed it and hugged it to my chest.

"lolo my little knight" I whispered before drifting off to sleep.
