Kaycee awoke to a very loud knock at the front door. She jumped up, scuffling down the stairs and opening the door.

"Hi.." Her breath caught in her throat. It was Alan, holding a bouquet of flowers with a soaked body. He had gone to her in the rain. She ushered him in and ran upstairs to get him a a towel. Alan placed the flowers on the mantel and watched as Kaycee walked down the stairs. He gave her a small smile as she handed him the towel.

"I have a few items of yours that you can wear while i dry the rest of your stuff." Alan nodded as he went to the bathroom to change. When he came out he handed Kaycee the wet clothes and she put them into the dryer. "Alan.." He looked up at her from the couch. "What are you doing here?"

"About what happened yesterday-" She cut him off.

"We don't have to do this.." He held up his hand and she silenced.

"I meant everything I said to you, Kaycee." She nodded.

"I know." She sat down next to him on the couch and he placed his hand gently on her thigh.

"Do you? Kaycee, you practically bolted out of my house." Kaycee sighed.

"I can't let you in so easily, Alan..What you did.." He reached for her face.

"I can't tell you how sorry i am.." She looked away as he reached for her.

"I need more proof than words, Alan." He nodded.

"I understand." She began to fiddle with her fingers nervously. She stood up, going to check on the laundry but Alan quickly stood, grabbing her arm and pulling her to him causing his lips to smash against hers. Her heart began to race. This isn't like him... He was so rough... So...dirty. Kaycee pushed against him, causing the kiss to break.

"Alan.." He smirked.

"You've been saying my name an awful lot.." Kaycee stepped back.

"What happened to you? This isn't you." Alan sighed and gently pulled her back to him.

"I've changed a lot since we were last together." Kaycee didn't understand.

"How so?" Alan chuckled then replied.

"It's hard to explain." Kaycee looked up at him, her eyebrow raised.

"I have time." He shook his head.

"It's not that simple, all I know is that I want to be with you." Kaycee felt herself blushing a deep red and she looked away. She wanted him so much but had to keep her guard up.

"I still don't know if I can trust you." The thought of Diana sped through her mind, making her angry.

"I understand. But I love you." Kaycee looked back at Alan, her expression softening at his words. Kaycee genuinely felt her knees go weak and she clutched the side of the couch to keep herself from falling. "What? Did you think I stopped?" Kaycee nodded shyly causing Alan to chuckle.

"We grew apart so quickly after and we hadn't spoken so I figured that you moved on.." Alan sighed and stepped towards her.

"I never moved on. I regret hurting you, I regret leaving you, and I regret not fighting for you." Alan searched her face, which was currently unreadable. She chewed her lip nervously and Alan brushed his thumb against her bottom lip and slowly pulled it from in between her teeth, which caused her to bite down more.

"Alan..." Alan smiled softly.

"I just want another chance to prove myself. Please?" Kaycee sighed, feeling her inner walls crumble. She had become so numb the thought of being with him that these walls came up to protect how she felt. Alan sensed her hesitance. "I'll get my laundry and go. Just..please think about it..okay?" Kaycee nodded.

"Okay." Kaycee smiled softly as Alan gathered his dry clothes and went to the door. "If you want to talk, I'll be home." Kaycee nodded and watched him as he left. She heard her phone buzz and she glanced down. 'Check your dining room table.' She turned and looked, finding a small box resting on the table. She walked over and sat down. She opened it and sighed, holding back tears as she looked inside...
