Over the next few weeks, Kaycee was starting to feel better. She was able to walk with crutches and was able to go out and do things, which made Kaycee very happy. Although Alan was very hesitant, he would take her out so she could walk around and get out of the house. She had been going over to Alan's flat during most days. She was making her way around the apartment and Alan watched her carefully, hoping she wouldn't stumble upon his special gift. Thankfully she hadn't, but keeping it from her was getting harder and harder to do. He still had to figure out how to pop the question. Alan had been in his office working on scripts, he finally emerged from the room to find Kaycee laying on the couch watching Say Yes to the Dress. She was talking to herself, of course, and critiquing each dress. He made his way over to her and smiled as he heard her sigh.

"I want to get married." Alan froze.

"Oh really?" Kaycee giggled.

"Yeah. I mean, I feel like I have my life together enough so I am able to start a family, you know?" Alan smirked and sat down on the couch beside her. She repositioned herself so that her head rested on his lap. He began to stroke her hair.

"Would you marry me?" Kaycee looked up at him.

"Was that your way of asking me to marry you?" Alan chuckled.

"God no, I'd do it in a much more romantic way." Kaycee smirked.

"I'll believe it when I see it." Alan smirked down at her. She snuggled against him and the two continued to watch tv.

A few days later...

Alan had decided that if he was going to propose to Kaycee that he would need someones help. He reluctantly asked Alexa and Julia to help. Of course they began to lose their minds with giggles and screams of excitement.

"So you'll help?" The two young woman nodded.

"Oh my god yes! What do you need us to do?" For the next week, Alan, Alexa, and Julia had devised a plan for Kaycee's proposal. Alan gave the girls a credit card and told them to get what they needed. Alan had a meeting that day so he left the rest of the proposal plan in the trusted hands of the girls.

Meanwhile...

Kaycee was alone in the apartment, Alan had gone to a meeting for one of his newest films. She had started walking without crutches, doing fairly well. She was up in the bedroom, looking for a change of clothes. She decided that stealing Alan's shirt would be a good idea. She opened the drawer and began rummaging for his large flannel shirt. She found it and yanked it out of the drawer. Something fell out of its pocket when she did. Kaycee picked up the small box and opened it, gasping.

"He didn't." Tears formed in her eyes as she realized that it indeed was an engagement ring. She took a deep breath and put it back into the shirt pocket, tucking the shirt back into the drawer. She threw on a large sweater and got back into bed, a large smile spreading across her face. He was planning to propose... What do I do? Should I call Alexa? No..no don't do that...oh my god..  She began to take deeper breaths, attempting to calm down when she heard the front door open. Be cool.. calm down..

"Hello love." Alan walked into the bedroom and leaned down to kiss Kaycee's cheek. She smiled at him nervously and avoided eye contact. "How was your day?" She nodded.

"It was good, uneventful. How about you?" He nodded.

"The same, lots of conversations about script changes and whatnot." Kaycee began to calm down.

"Fun stuff." Alan chuckled.

"Definitely." He had noticed her slight change in mood. "Are you alright?" She answered a little faster than she meant to.

"Yeah, yeah I'm good." Alan cocked a brow and narrowed his eyes. What was she hiding?  He chose to shrug it off. He went to change his shirt and noticed that the flannel was in a different position than he had left it. Oh fuck..did she find it?  Alan took a deep breath. No, definitely not. He walked over and sat next to her on the bed and pulled her to him, kissing her cheek softly. The rest of the night went by painfully slow for Alan. He had began to get stir-crazy thinking about how Friday would turn out. Hopefully, by the end of the week he would have a fiancee.
