Kaycee woke up the next morning to the girls rushing around. She sat up and stretched before shuffling into the next room. The girls, along with her mother, where rushing around setting up everything. Linda saw Kaycee and smiled.
"It's about time you get up, you need to start getting ready!" Kaycee rubbed her eyes and yawned. Linda smiled and handed her daughter towels and a toothbrush. "Go get cleaned up." Kaycee nodded silently and shuffled off the to bathroom. After about a half an hour, because thats all her mother would allot for getting "cleaned up", she was ushered and forced into a chair where her mother began blow drying and styling her hair. The girls had gone to get the rest of the necessary things to get Kaycee ready. Thankfully Kaycee had already figured out bridesmaid dresses so all the girls needed to do was pick them up.
(i couldnt find this bridesmaid dress in a pale beige but yeah just roll with it LOL)
Linda was already dressed, which Kaycee noticed right away. Linda was someone who would be ready to leave for a dinner about four hours before she had to leave. It was always something Kaycee admired about her mother. Kaycee stared at herself in the vanity as her mother thought of a hair style. She hadn't gotten the chance to spend any alone time with her mother, it was nice. As Linda began to style Kaycee's hair into an intricate half up- half down hairstyle, she locked eyes with her daughter.
"You're sure about this?" Kaycee scoffed lightly.
"Mother.." Linda tutted Kaycee lightly.
"I'm not asking to be rude or second guess you, Darling." Linda sighed. "I had a lot of nerves when I married your father. I almost left him at the alter." Kaycee giggled.
"Mother!" Linda smiled, holding back her laughter.
"It's true! I was scared to death. If you're having any doubts or nerves-" Kaycee interrupted her mother.
"I love him. He's been there for me through everything, Mom. We had a rough patch for a while but it was the right person at the wrong time.. I love him." Linda smiled and turned Kaycee's chair to face her. She cupped her daughters cheeks lightly.
"Good. Now let's get you married." Kaycee smiled as her mother kissed her cheek gently.
Kaycee walked out the suite and watched her mother burst into sobs. Kaycee had wanted a much simpler dress, but her mother had insisted on this one. She walked down to the limo that was parked out front and took a deep breath. Her bridal party followed closely behind. Once they all got in, Kaycee closed her eyes. This is it. She gently maneuvered her way into the limo and sat back, her heart pounding, as the limo drove to the venue. Linda managed to book a small, but elegant venue the night before. Kaycee assumed they had to pay quite a bit but Kaycee didn't want to protest. All of the planning, the migraines, the constant bickering with her mother. All of it had lead to this. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. This was her happy ending. All of their problems and fights seemed so small now. She placed her hand on her stomach, smiling at the thought of her sweet baby. When she opened her eyes, they had arrived. Linda and Julia looked at Kaycee.
"You ready?" Kaycee nodded.
"Let's do this."
The procession lined up and Kaycee held the small bouquet tightly in her hands. Richard linked his arm, softly holding Kaycee's hand. The music began to play and one by one the girls disappeared down the aisle. Kaycee looked up, locking eyes with Alan. As Kaycee came into view, Alan nearly dropped to his knees. The crowd broke out in small fits of laughter and women wiped their cheeks with handkerchiefs. One of Alan's friends jokingly pulled him up and patted him on the shoulder. As Kaycee reached the altar, she felt her father kiss her cheek.
"I love you sweetheart." She smiled, tears welling in her eyes.
"I love you too, Dad." Richard placed Kaycee's hand in Alan's once Kaycee handed off the bouquet. Alan scanned her up and down and chuckled softly. He turned to the crowd.
"She's gonna be my wife!" Everyone laughed, including Kaycee. Alan's brother, Craig, was officiating the wedding. He began with a small "dearly beloved" type of speech and then looked at his brother.
"Alan.." He didn't even blink.
"I do!" Craig laughed.
"Slow down, we're not there yet." Alan groaned and smiled.
"Alan. Do you take Kaycee do be your wife? To cherish her, protect her, and honor her? To love her, respect her, and grow with her until the end of your days?" Alan took a deep breath.
"I do." Kaycee smiled as Alan placed the small band on her finger.
"Kaycee. Do you take Alan to be your husband? To cherish him, protect him, and honor him? To love him, respect him, an grow with him until the end of your days?" Kaycee sniffled and nodded.
"Absolutely." A soft laughter resounded through the venue."
"Then by the power vested in me, by EvenYouCanPerformWeddings.com, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." Alan cupped Kaycee's face gently and kissed her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and giggled as the crowd cheered. This was her happy ending.
Nine months later...
"Come on, love, push. He's almost here." Alan held his wife's hand and brushed the stray hair from her forehead. He had waited so eagerly for this moment and now it was here. Their baby was finally here. Kaycee pushed again, clutching to her husband's arm. She fell back, breathing heavily as a loud cry rang out. Alan wiped the tears from his eyes and kissed Kaycee. "Well done, my love. You did it." Kaycee sobbed softly as the nurse placed a small, red-faced baby boy in her arms. Alan kissed the top of his head softly.
"I can't believe he's here." Alan chuckled as his wife marveled at the small form in her arms. A nurse came in soon after.
"We have to give him a quick check up, but we'll bring him right back when he's done. What's this handsome guy's name?"
Kaycee and Alan exchanged a look and smiled.
"Richard Bernard Rickman."
