Kaycee awoke the next morning, her body sore and her thoughts of last night consisting mostly of blurs. Alan hadn't been rough, but he hadn't been gentle either. She assumed that Alan carried her up to bed afterwards. She attempted to roll over but her thighs quaked, a sharp pain shooting through her and she whimpered. Alan looked down at her, chuckling.
"How are you feeling?" She whimpered again. He tilted her face up to his and kissed her. He noticed her eyes where teary. Had he been that rough? "Darling, what can i do?" She smiled weakly and forced her body to sit up. Alan had put her in one of his shirts and a pair of his boxers. She took a sharp intake of breath as the pain continued. Alan sat up and got out of the bed and headed to the bathroom. Kaycee heard the water from the tub and sighed. Alan came back, half naked, and undressed her. He then picked her up and carried her to the large tub, gently placing her in, then situating himself behind her. The hot water elicited a moan from Kaycee. She hurt everywhere. Alan began to massage her arms then her back, trailing down to her thighs and then wrapping his arms around her waist. She melted into his embrace, feeling her muscles relax. "Better?" She nodded.
"Mhmmmm." Alan chuckled and kissed her head.
"Good." They rested like this for almost an hour before the two of them began to get pruney. Once they got out and dressed, Alan went to the kitchen and began rummaging through the kitchen. Kaycee sat at the island and watched Alan roam around the kitchen. He took out large pieces of meat. He cut it into chunks and threw it into a large pot with other various ingredients. Once it cooked down, Alan ushered Kaycee over to him and held out a spoon. She took a bite and smiled.
"Mmmm, what is that?" Alan smiled.
"Venison French Stew. My mother used to make it." Kaycee smiled then looked at him.
"Wait, venison is.."
"Deer, yes." Kaycee gave an approving shrug and giggled. "Want to make the mashed potatoes." Kaycee nodded eagerly and got to work. This felt normal, cooking in the kitchen together. Alan began to picture a future with her. He smiled at the thought of having that. He looked over at Kaycee, who had been talking, and he panicked. She had finished speaking and she looked up at Alan as she mashed the potatoes. "Umm.."
"Did you hear any of that?" He shook his head slowly, earning a playful slap from Kaycee. "Well, what I was saying was that I liked this and that it reminds me of when my mum and dad cook in the kitchen together." Alan smiled and pulled her to him, kissing her head.
"I'd love for that to be us." Kaycee blushed. She couldn't deny that she had thought about being with Alan for the rest of her life. It made her stomach feel funny, a good kind of funny. After had finished eating, they sat down on the couch and Alan brought it up again. "So... us." Kaycee giggled.
"So..us." Alan sighed.
"Do you see a future with me?" Kaycee blushed, nodding.
"I mean, yeah." Alan smiled, waiting for her to continue. "Do you?" Alan looked at her.
"I've always pictured a life with you." Kaycee looked up at Alan. "That time I proposed to you, I was ready to start a new life with you at that very moment." Kaycee smiled and began to play with the ring that still hung around her neck. She had wanted to be with him, but a marriage? The only examples she had ever seen when it came to marriage weren't necessarily good ones. Her parents got divorced when she was young and had been married multiple times before getting back together. It was a very mentally taxing situation so Kaycee's image of marriage was a bit tampered. "Kaycee?"
"Hmm?"
"You okay?" She nodded.
"Yeah, just thinking." He nodded.
"Well," He smirked and pulled her into his lap to straddle him. "What do you think about this?" He began to snake his hands underneath her shirt. She whimpered and pulled him closer to her, kissing him. She loved him, and he knew that. He also knew every single thing that he could do to rile her up, and it seemed to be getting easier. He raked his hands up and down her torso. She began to rock her hips. "Mmmm...another evening in the room my love?" She shook her head.
"How about the bedroom?" She smirked and he nodded.
"I think that can be arranged." With that he scooped her up into his arms and carried her into the bedroom, closing the doors behind him.

Kaycee woke up at a relatively early hour the next day, almost 30 minutes after Alan awoke. She took a shower and got dressed. As she headed down to the kitchen she heard Alan on the phone, presumably with his sister.
"I don't care if my birthday is in a few days, we don't need a bloody party. I don't want one." After a few more moments of bickering, Alan hung up the phone and went to the kitchen.
"Good morning." Kaycee held out a cup of coffee and Alan smiled, kissing her cheek as he took the mug.
"Good morning, my love. How did you sleep?" She blushed and smiled.
"Good."
"Good." Alan returned her reply with a smirk. "What are your plans for the day?" Kaycee figured she could go out and get Alan something special for his birthday. Maybe she'd get him that watch he'd been eyeing every time they passed the store. Or maybe something less paternal? Ugh she had no idea, but she could try to figure it out.
"Hmmm, I was thinking about running some errands." Alan quirked an eyebrow.
"Oh really? Doing what?" He smirked, knowing that it was about his birthday.
"Girl stuff." Alan chuckled and watched Kaycee's flustered face.
"Alright then." He smirked as she got her stuff together and headed to the door. "Give me a kiss." She obliged and stood on her toes, kissing him softly. He smiled and brushed a stray strand of hair from her face. "I'll see you when you get back, alright?" She nodded and opened the door. "Hey!" She stopped and looked back at him. "I love you." She smiled.
"I love you too."
As she drove down the small road, she turned the volume up on her stereo. She had recently rekindled her love of Ariana Grande and Just A Little Bit of Your Heart had always pulled at her heart strings. She looked at the road ahead, barely anyone was on the road and she was going a solid 35mph. She began to sing along closing her eyes and getting into the song.
Just a little bit of your heart
Just a little bit of your heart
Just a little bit of your heart is all I wantAs she opened her eyes, she immediately regretted it as the horrors before her unfolded. A truck, an 18-wheeler, raced towards her car. She went to turn but her brakes stalled and the large vehicle collided with her own, causing the car to crash and flip four times before crashing back onto the ground. The 18-wheeler was already up in flames on the opposite side of the road. Kaycee was in fact unconscious. Her phone had began to ring, showing Alan's number flashing across the screen. If only he had called a few moments earlier...
