~Sam's p.o.v.

Once I finished looking in the mirror, I walked out of my room and headed out the front door.

When I got to the living room, I heard the t.v. mute. My mom was laying on the couch, a cigarette in her mouth and a beer in her hands.

"And where do you think your going?"

I racked my brain for a quick lie, then thought of one.

"Oh! I'm just going to apply to this new job that pays way much more than 'Laceys Shoe Palace.' "

She studied me to see if I was lying, then rolled her eyes, "Whatever. Just make sure your back on time. I want you to make dinner for Steve and I."

I sighed in relief and in annoyance as I ran out the door as quickly as  could. My car beeped as I unlocked the doors. Sliding into the drivers seat, I closed the door and started the car. The cold air hit my face, and one directions soft voices filled The car, making me forget about my mom and her arrogant boyfriend .

Ever since my dad left us high and dry, she's been going out with Steve because she claims he makes her feel 'Alive' , pardon the one direction song reference. But every time he comes over, I lock myself in my room because if I dont, I'm afraid he will try something on me.

I've told my mom how I felt towards him, how he gives me that uneasy feeling. But she wouldn't have it. She would say," You just don't want me to be happy!"or "too bad I love him!" It's hard to talk to her about anything,  But even mire harder to talk to him about Steve.

But whenever I do have to get out of my room, I always try to wear as much clothing as I can, and keep a very good distance away from him.

The first year my dad left, everything was when it started because that's when my mom started drinking and smoking.

Before we used to be a perfect family. Always smiling, having fun, going to amusement parks when it was our breaks from school. We were the family everyone was jealous of.

The night before he had told me to wake him up at 5 in the morning. I didn't ask why because I was so excited that he had asked me to do something for him. That night I couldn't even go to sleep because I was so happy. So when 5 came around,I jumped out of bed and ran to my parents' bedroom and woke up my dad. He smiled and gave me a kiss on the cheek saying "Good job princess." He got up and went to the closet, quietly grabbing luggage and ripping clothes of the hangers. When he was done he was putting on his shoes. I had gone up to him and asked him where he was going .He started to cry,he hugged me while stroking my hair while singing me 'Isnt She Lovely' in my ear softly. After that he gave me one last kiss on the forehead and went out the front door. That was the last time I saw him.

I knew he was going to leave sometime, but I just thought it wouldn't be when I was 5 and going through a hard time at school.

But, what my favorite quote says," Things happen for a reason."

As I stood in the long line of beautiful directioners and closer to the tables where the boys were at, I became nervous.

Directioners from different places were chattering, squealing, laughing and most importantly, Fangirling.

I was just standing in line, quietly because I wasn't really, 'a people person.' So I stayed in line just looking through my binder that i had brought in my bag specifically for the boys.
