Part 13-his dog he forgot to put on a leash, or should I call him Case?

Apparently Case & I's argument worked in my favor because I left Cody, WY winning it, while Kelsey was 4th. We were currently headed to the greatest rodeo on grass, Pendleton.

Case's calf came untied, an John was sitting 2nd, so just goes to show you what being a prick will get you.

"So what happened?" Kelsey asked looking up from her phone and pulled me out of my thoughts while I was driving.

"What are you talking about?" 

"Case hoe. What happened?"

"I told you, we talked, we argued, nothing changed." I spoke shrugging my shoulders

"I don't mean that shit. You already told me that, I'm talking about you as a whole, what happened between y'all and don't give me the whole cover up story" she said turning and looking at me "we're like sisters Reece and I haven't asked yet because I knew it upset you, but now I don't give a damn. Tell me"

"FINE fine. I said a little irritated. It was when we were in Tulsa. All 4 of us were sitting good in placing and we were all feeling good ya know? So I decided we could cut loose, and we did, you were there, well while you and John were on a beer run, me and case were, pardon my French, getting hot an heavy when we heard a knock on the door. When he opened it it was that buckle bunny Heather Hosea. "

"No shit?!!" Kelsey said eyes wide

"No shit. Anyways. She told Case that her and a few of her friends, along with some ropers, we're going to the local bar/strip club. First off it pissed me off she was at the door of my trailer, 2nd it pissed me off he was thinking about it, anyways. He turned and asked if I wanted to go. I said no, we could just stay here by ourselves, but NOOO that fuckin wasn't good enough. He spent a good 3 minutes just looking at me, then turned to heather and told her that he'd meet them at the entrance to the fairgrounds."

"Nah uh!!"

"Yes huh. So I asked if he was serious, of course he said he was and that I was being unreasonable for not wanting to go. So I told him I wasn't gonna argue just that if he left, he can't waltz his way back in my life. So he thought about it for a split second, grabbed his boots and walked out my door. That was mind you 5-6 months ago."

"Oh my god Reece! I'm so sorry." She said covering her mouth.

"So I stuck to my word. He's tried calling me, texting me, meeting me but I refuse."

"What a gah damn prick!"

"I'm saying sister. So I told him again I was done." I said checking my phone then looking back on the road.

"See I ask John about it and he didn't have no idea so.."

"Doesn't surprise me. I doubt Case talks about any of his failures" I say rolling my eyes.

After that we sat in a comfortable silence, singing to songs here and there, but apart from that. Just silence and our thoughts

A few hours later we finally made it to Pendleton. We settled the horses in, parked our rig, and walked up to check in and say hi to all our friends.

I was stopped in my tracks by Kelsey slapping me across the stomach, a little harder than she probably intended. 

"Oh. My. God. Reece. Is that-"

"CHANCE??" I said louder than I heard louder in my head.

At the sound of his name the tall brunette turned and looked at me. Once his eyes locked with mine, he smiled his smile that makes my legs turn into jello.

"Well if it isn't my Reece's piece!" He said running up to me and engulfing me in a bear hug.

"What the hell are you doing here??" I ask smiling as he sets me down from the hug.

"I won a pair of tickets on a radio show, so here I am, all expenses paid." He said smiling.

I turned when I heard Kelsey clear her throat and found her with her love, and his dog he forgot to put on a leash, or should I call him Case? 

"Who's this" case said faking a smile and sticking his hand out for Chance to shake.

"I'm Chance Taos. Nice to meet you" Chance said taking his hand.

"Nice to meet ya Chance. I'm Case, Reece's boyfriend-"

"Ex boyfriend. As in no more." I said looking at Case with a face of bewilderment.

"Tomatoe, tomato." He said rolling his eyes.

"Oh yeah I saw you at the NFR. Keeping my girls arm warm since I wasn't there to be on it" he said teasing tossing his hand around my shoulder.

I saw the anger rise in Case as he opened his mouth to say something the announcer boomed over the speakers

"OK LADIES AND GENTS. 15 MINUTES TILL THE BEGINNING OF THE ROUND"

"I guess that's your cue to go find your seat" case said to Chance.

"Why don't you show me it ma'am" Chance snapped back.

"Ladies ladies. Please. Chance you can come along if you want. Case retract your claws." I said rolling my eyes as I walked off with John and Kelsey, with Chance and Case in tow.

After the rodeo started and was done with a few events it was time for barrels. They set the barrels up on the drug part of the track. I absolutely loved the way the arena was set up. It was like a big pasture wit a track drug around the edge, your barrels are set up on the first so you can turn, but the runs to em are on the grass its amazing.

I maneuvered Ace into the make shift "alleyway" and sent him off for the first. We flew across the ground like we were flying, seemed like forever but we finally made it to the third and turned it and came flying home.

"Reece's time folks is a 30.211. Good enough for 3rd in the round at the moment. Good job cowgirl." I patted ace on the neck as he was breathing hard with the run he just made and cooled him off. I was beyond proud of this little horse with a big heart. No matter what's going on in my life. I know he will be there to make me feel better and take care of me.
