Back at the house, everyone was looking at Shannon, surprise, written all over their faces. "Shannon?" asked her mother, "How can you feel like that? We have always treated you, girls, the same?"
"I don't think our biggest problem is jealousy, but maybe a deeper issue," explained Krissy, recovering from her anger. They looked at Shannon, she went red, then she looked at Krissy and her mother.
"I would prefer to tell you and Krissy and then you can tell Dad," Shannon said to her mother before looking down at her hands clenched in her lap.
"All right," said Geoffrey, her father, looking over at Mark and Matthew, as he got up from the table, "We have some things to do in the shed, come on boys!" he said moving to the door, as he walked past Shannon, he said, "Whatever happened love, just remember that I love you and that you can always come to us with anything and I will do my best to make things right again."
"Thanks, Dad," said Shannon, she quickly gave him a hug, trying not to break down in front of him.
"That goes for us too," Mark said as he moved out the door with Geoffrey and Matt, who was nodding his head in agreement.
After waiting until the men were out of hearing, Susan turned to Shannon and asked her, "Ok what is all this about?"
Shannon looked at her and Krissy and wondered how she was going to explain everything to them, "It happens when I went to Brisbane around the time of your wedding anniversary last year, I went out to a nightclub by myself for I was feeling lonely, with Gina away and Mark and Krissy talking about getting engaged and Matt never home I felt alone, therefore, I went out, biggest mistake I have ever made."
(Shannon's memory)
The room was dark, but you could see the body shapes of people moving to the music. Flashes of light came through from the light, letting you see color every now and then. The bar was busy, three deep in places. Moving further into the club, music pulsing so loud she could feel it in her legs, at times Shannon was not sure if it was the music or her trembling, she started looking around the room. The mood lighting was set low, you could barely see who was sitting and in some cases, people were using that to their advantage.
"I did not think I would see someone as beautiful as you here?" said a masculine voice in her ear, Shannon felt a tremor run through her, she turned to face him, he was gorgeous! She enjoyed his smile also.
"Tyler Miller, of Millers Fashion and Makeup," he said, "With your face and body, I can bring and make lots of money for you."
She could not believe her luck in meeting Tyler Miller, as the owner of the most prestigious modeling agency in Australia and he was talking to her. "You're not so bad looking yourself," replied Shannon looking at him and saw that he was watching her intently she quickly glanced away.
"Would you like to stay or go somewhere else?" he asked Shannon, looked back at him.
"What made you ask that?" she said looking at the dancers in front of her.
"You have a look about you that says you do not come to nightclubs very often," Tyler said to her as he continued to watch her.
"Actually, I don't, it's really not my scene," replied Shannon, hoping she did not sound to stoic.
Tyler laughed, "Well, let's blow this joint then."
"Okay," replied Shannon as she moved with him towards the door. While making their way through the crowd Shannon was knocked backed into Tyler; she felt his arms go around her to steady her. Shannon sucked in a breath; her body tingled from where he touched her. She felt his warm breath tease her hair and a warm flush went through her. When they finally got out, he took her over to his car, not just any car, a 1966 Shelby Cobra, in mint condition. What would Matt and Mark say about this and Dad?
