"Don't worry," they say,
"Don't worry,
He'll be okay,
It'll all be okay."
Everything is white...
White walls...
White sheets...
White skin...
"Don't worry," they say,
"Don't worry,
He'll be fine,
Everything will be fine."
It all feels so cold...
Cold floors...
Cold empty rooms...
Cold hands...
"Don't worry," they say,
"Don't worry,
He'll get better,
He'll make it home."
Now everything is dark...
Black dresses...
Black suits and ties...
Black wood and silver handles...
"Don't worry," they say,
"Don't worry,
You'll be okay,
It'll all be okay."
I won't be,
They know it too.
He's not okay,
I'm not okay.
None of it will be.
"Don't worry," they say,
"Don't worry,
You'll be fine,
Everything will be fine."
I won't be,
They know it too.
I'm not fine,
He's not fine.
Nothing ever was.
"Don't worry," they say,
"Don't worry,
You'll move on,
You'll make it home."
Home isn't there anymore,
I looked.
He's in that
Black and silver box...
"Don't worry," they say,
"Don't worry,
He's in our hearts."
He's not there either,
I looked.
He's in that
Black and silver box...
I let Cold Black earth
Slip from my fingers
Onto that
Black and silver box.
"Don't worry," I say,
"Don't worry.
Isn't that right?
Don't worry?"
It's not right...
Home is gone,
And he took my dead
Heart with him...

PoetryIf you're one of those folks that think that all poems need to rhyme, I'm sorry. In any case, this is a simple collection of poems. A few of them rhyme. But most of them don't.
