The world is like
The dark of night.
It is deep,
And filled with
Invisible mysteries.
It is cruel,
And filled with
Deadly uncertainties.
But the world,
Like the dark of night,
Is also filled with
Hidden beauties.
Nocturnal creatures
Blink curious
Luminous eyes at
The strangeness
Around them.
In the dark the
Leaves of trees
Glisten in the
Shy moonlight.
Within lakes is seen the
Reflections of stars
Peeking innocently through
The curtain of black.
Mothers huddle
In their beds
With their babies,
Not just for warmth,
But out of love.
Everything is shadowed
And gleaming with
Subtle power,
Hidden by
The dark of night.
It's because of
That dark that
The way everything
Shimmers with
It's own glow
Can be seen.
Even in the
World of night,
There is radiance.

PoetryIf you're one of those folks that think that all poems need to rhyme, I'm sorry. In any case, this is a simple collection of poems. A few of them rhyme. But most of them don't.
