When I was a child
God asked me,
"Who is your enemy?"
"The Devil,"
I had said.
For that was
What I had always been told.
When I had grown
The Devil asked me,
"Who is your enemy?"
"Fear,"
Was my answer.
For that was
What I had come to understand.
