I offer you my hand,
Yet you ignore it.
You don't want my help.
I'm always at your side,
But you won't lean on me.
I do everything I can
To help you, support you,
To protect you from yourself.
You can't even remember my name.
I don't mind.
Because even though it hurts --
While I know it is foolish --
I still love you.
I have no illusions,
I know you don't see me,
Though I am always there.
I don't think you could,
Even if you tried.
Yet when you hurt,
I know. I feel it.
When you fall,
I drop lower to push you up.
When you fail,
I remind you of your success.
Still, you can't remember my name...
It's okay.
I don't mind.
I love you,
I will remain at your side.
