Gigi's POV:
"You're skipping soccer?" My mom asked, looking up from her cooking to stare me down. My mom was American, so she always called football soccer.
"Mom, I've never missed a practice. Can't I just go to a party and have fun for once?" I asked.
She rolled her eyes. "I know you do enjoy the practices, but fine."
I smiled. "Thanks Mom." I said, kissing her cheek quickly and walking out the door.
Louis was picking me up, so I waited on the doorstep.
I looked at what I was wearing. Jeans, a white t-shirt, and a cardigan.
I had went into my sisters room and borrowed the clothes beside the jeans and the t-shirt, but I borrowed some jewelry, the sweater, and a pair of boots.
I heard a honk and I looked up.
I smiled and ran into Louis car.
"Hey Lou." I said, buckling up and slamming the door shut.
He smiled. "You look nicer than usual. It's been a while since I've seen you not wearing polyester shorts."
I punched him and laughed.
"Let's just go."
He nodded and turned on the the car.
The drive to Olivia's house was about 20 minutes, so after a couple of minutes of boring small talk, I turned on the radio.
The second I heard Jingle Bells playing,
I turned it off.
"Christmas is already over!" I muttered.
Louis chuckled as we pulled into the nicest part of our neighborhood.
After a few more minutes, Louis drove into Olivia's driveway.
"Ready?" He asked, locking the doors.
"Ready." I said, following him into the mansion that stood in front of us.
•••••••
A little house party.
Those words rang false in my ears as I saw the hundreds of teens dancing in front of me.
The beer was out, meaning that half the kids here were underage drinking.
I sighed and followed Louis.
"Don't take the beer." He muttered through clenched teeth. "They spike it."
I gulped and nodded. "Ok."
"Gi!" I heard a shrill voice exclaim from across the room.
Great.
Olivia came stumbling over to me, holding a cup in her hand that was inevitably filled with some form of alcohol.
I looked around me. I felt my head getting dizzy from all the screaming and shouting and other things going on.
I felt like I was going to puke.
I sprinted out the door and far down the street.
I ran until I couldn't hear the party anymore, the blasting music, the screaming kids.
I sat down on a curb and started crying.
I don't know why.
I felt like such a baby to leave the party. But I know that my mom and dad would want me to leave. I can't defy them twice tonight.
I then felt an unfamiliar hand on my shoulder.
"You alright? I saw you rush out of there." Someone asked, a very mature sounding voice echoing into my ears.
I sniffed and nodded. "Yeah, I just didn't feel comfortable."
He sat down next to me.
"I'm Liam, by the way. I think I'm a couple years older than you."
I smiled. "I'm Gigi. I think I'm a couple years younger than you."
We both laughed at that, and he stood up and offered his hand to me.
"Want me to give you a ride home?"
I thought for a second, thinking about the consequences of getting into a car with a practical stranger.
But I did need a ride home.
"Sure, thank you."
He pulled me up as we walked in silence over to his car.
"Sorry it's such a piece of crap." He muttered, clicking it open.
I shrugged. "At least you have one."
He grinned and hopped into the seat next to mine.
"Where do you live?" He asked, starting to pull out of the driveway.
"Um...83 Willow Tree Circle."
He looked at me with raised eyebrows.
"Me too! Well, actually 78 Willow Tree Circle." He said, starting off down the street. "Surprised I've never seen you before."
I laughed. "I'm not home much. I'm usually at some sort of sports game or practice."
He nodded.
As we drove, we learned a lot about each other, like the fact that we both think Olivia is annoying, and that she's using Harry for popularity.
As we pulled up to my house, he smiled and gestured outside.
"Thanks so much for giving me a ride. I'd probably be hitchhiking right now without you."
He laughed and handed me a piece of paper. "You can call me anytime you wanna talk. Have a great night." He said, letting me get out. He waved to me as he tore down the street.
I felt a little tingling in my stomach, something I've never felt before.
It was weird, but also nice.
Really, really nice.
