Harry's POV:
"Harry, have you packed all your bags?" my mother yelled at me from upstairs.
"Not yet." I muttered, staring at my phone in which i had been staring at for a couple hours, looking at it for answers, answers of how to stop us from moving.
But it was pretty much too late.
One more day, and this is house was no longer ours, we would be staying with my grandparents until it sold, then moving on to some likely crappy town.
I would never see Cassia, or any of my friends, again.
Though my mind was ninety-percent focused on figuring out a way to cancel the move, the other part was aimed on what had happened last night.
Cassia, Cassia Greenwald, the girl I hated, kissed me.
And strangly enough, I liked it. I liked it a lot.
After singing for what felt like forever, she had begged me to try out for some show, to somehow put myself out there.
I had considered it for a second, but then I shooed it out of my possibilties.
The chances of me being accepted through any show were remarkably low, much less winning the show and making enough money so my family could stay home.
Even though I knew that realizing that it was the last day I'll ever see Cassia made me sad, I had invited, or she had invited herself, over.
She would be here in twenty minutes. Twenty minutes until the time between us would slowly tick away.
"Harry, get down here!" My mother yelled.
"Coming!" I replied stomping down the stairs, coming face to face with Cassia, who had a small smirk planted on her face.
"Oh, um, hi. I didn't know you were coming so early."
She blushed. "Sorry, I was bored so I came over a little early...I can wait outside until you're ready and-"
I cut her off with a laugh. "No, it's fine. Come on in."
We walked off into the kitchen, where she immediatly beelined for my fridge.
"So you're one of those people?" I snickered.
She rolled her eyes and faced the food in front of her.
"I'm a growing girl."
"You're fifteen."
She ignored my comment and bit her lip in thought.
"What can I have?"
"Anything but the alcohol...unless that's something you're into."
She shook her head and grabbed a cup of yogurt.
"My sisters the only one who eats that." I laughed.
She held up the pink cup. "No, really? I took you as an 'I eat Trix yogurt' kind of guy. I guess I was wrong." She said sarcastically.
"Ha ha. You're practically a comedian."
She slid into the seat next to me. "No need to tell me." She started stirring the yogurt with her spoon.
"So what's up?" I said, grabbing an apple from the center of the table and biting into it.
She perked up a little.
"Welllll..." She said, dropping her spoon which clanked on the wooden table. "I MIGHT'VE done something that you maybe didn't want me to do..."
I rolled my eyes. "What did you do?"
She blushed a little, then braced herself for whatever reaction I was about to have.
"Harry, last night I was on my computer and I really couldn't help myself..."
"Just cut to the chase." I said, taking another big bite of the apple.
"I...I um..." She scratched the back of her neck. "I signed you up for the X-Factor."
I spit out the apple I was currently chewing. "What?!" I screamed, immediately standing up.
She put a hand on my shoulder and pushed me back down.
"Listen, I did a lot of research, and if you can win this thing, you could earn a ton of money for your family." She paused and took a deep breath. "And...while you're in London auditioning, you're parents...I mean, mum, has to pay for one less person to feed."
I felt my heart rate rising. "Do you actually think that I have any chance of making it?" I asked, a tiny but of hope rising in my voice.
She nodded forcefully. "Duh. You're amazing. No joke." She said, spooning some more yogurt into her mouth.
I smiled. "You know what? I think I'll try it! I think that it will be fun!"
Her smile increased a thousand watts. "I knew you'd be happy!" She hugged me. "You're gonna be great!"
I felt butterflies as her arms wrapped around me and her laugh tinkled in my ears like Christmas bells.
She removed her hands from my waifs and got a suddenly serious look on her face.
"Oh, and one last thing."
I raised an eyebrow in question.
"The auditions are tomorrow," She exhaled quietly. "And I'm coming with you."
