Cassia's POV:

It had been a month since Harry and I started becoming friendly...ish.

Friendly enough so that he wouldn't tease me if he saw me in the hallway, he'd give me a little smile, or sometimes even say hello.

Harry had told me after break that his mum had some big thing planned for them, and that he was finding it out today.

I'd met his mum a couple of times at school related events. She was a complete doll, though she did seem extremely jittery and nervous 90% of the time,

"Hey." Dani, said, pulling up behind me with her bag slung on her back. "Wanna go grab some food?"

I shrugged and nodded. "Why not?"

I looked back at the school to see Olivia leaning against a wall with a bunch of her friends, seeming to be smoking some-thing-or-another.

It was only a matter of time before she'd turn into a druggie.

We turned the corner into a little coffee shop.

We both ordered hot chocolates and a croissant, and we sat down in a booth in the corner.

"Are you going to Jackie's party tonight?" She asked, taking a dip from her cup then backing away, sticking out her tongue. "Ooo. This is hot."

I giggled and nodded. "Yep." I said, popping the 'p'. "What're you wearing?"

Her face lit up. "Oh! Can you come over so I can show you? Then I'll help you pick out yours."

I rolled my eyes. "Sure, but only of you drive us there and back."

She clapped her hands. "Yay!" She had just gotten her license a couple weeks ago, and we was obsessed with driving my places. I couldn't say I minded.

She grabbed my half empty cup and hers and tossed them in the trash.

"Hey! I wasn't finished with that!" I pouted. She ignored me and kept pulling me towards the exit.

"Thank you!" I screamed out to the workers as she dragged me by my wrists.

After she shoved me into her car and started the ignition, she wouldn't shut up about the outfit she was wearing.

"So the gold necklace has a longggggg chain and a huge-I mean huge- pendant on the bottom. It probably weighs more than you! Then the boots...oh my god they're perfect with ..." She blabbed on as I internally shut her out.

I smiled to myself as I though about Harry. It seemed to be that I found myself thinking a lot about him in moments like these...which happened an lot, being best friends with Dani.

I quickly snapped out of it. Though Harry and I had tried to forget about the incidents that had occurred between us, I really couldn't erase them out of my mind. And I couldn't start falling for someone who had done all those awful things to me. No, I was much stronger than that.

"Cassia?!" I heard Dani exclaiming. I turned to her and raised an eyebrow. "I said we're here! God, sometimes in think you're deaf."

After looking over Dani's outfit, saying hello to her mother, and driving back to my house, there we were, sitting in my room.

"This?" Dani asked for the tenth time, though this time it was about yet another shirt.

"Whatever you want." I replied, causing Dani to throw her hands up in annoyance and go back (yet again) into my closet to search for another item.

"Fine. You're wearing this." She said, throwing me a nice bright pink blouse like tank and a pair of fake leather leggings.

"But..." I started to argue, then realizing that she was giving me a death stare.

I told Dani to look away as I changed out of my school clothes into the outfit she had picked out. Of course, she had to add these leggings.

"Wear it with these." Dani muttered, tossing me a pair of black heels that had a slight sparkle to them.

After putting them on, I examined myself in the mirror.

"Ahhh! You look amazing!" Dani squealed, running off into my bathroom to get changed herself.

I smiled to myself. I didn't look half bad.

••••••••••••

"Cass! So glad you could make it!" Jackie exclaimed, wrapping her long, smooth arms around me. She put her hands on my shoulders and looked me up and down.

"Beautiful." She smiled, taking her hands off my shoulders and wrapping them around her boyfriend. They walked off, now completely engrossed in each other.

Emphasis on the word gross.

I spotted Harry standing with a couple other people I didn't recognize in the corner.

I confidently walked up to him with a smile. He saw me and silently walked towards me, mimicking my facial expression as well.

"Hey Cassia." He said, nudging into me a little with his hand, which held a Coke can.

"Hey." I said, realizing I didn't know what to say when I came over here.

Friends shouldn't plan their conversations with each other, right? It should be easy to talk to Harry.

But when he smiled at me in his adorable way, everything I had just thought flew out of my mind.

"Wanna come get a soda with me?" I asked, starting to walk towards the kitchen in the back of the house.

"Sure."

After grabbing a Coke and a tiny little sandwich, Harry's happy expression dropped into a one of worry.

"I-I have to tell you something. I almost forgot." He said, fiddling with his fingers.

"Yeah?" I asked, feeling the edges of my lips getting dry.

He looked me in the eye for a second, then darted his gaze back on his shoes.

"I...you probably won't care, since we just became friendly, and you probably still hate me a little, but...I-I needed to let you know, just so you can't get hurt."

I felt my stomach drop.

He stopped talking and looked down at the floor again.

"Harry, please just get it over with."

He swallowed and I could see his hands visibly shook.

"Well...um...Cassia, this might be goodbye for a long time. Maybe forever."

I felt tears brimming in my eyes, threading to spill at any moment.

"Y-you don't mean..."

He nodded.

"I hate to say it, but..." He sighed, moving closer towards me.

"I'm moving."
