DAVID:
"Happy Hump Day!" Kingsley shouted as I opened the door. I smiled at her and she invited herself in and took off her shoes.
"What brings you here, Kingsley?" I asked, closing the door.
"I was bored, and you were the only person that I knew was home." She explained, skipping off to the kitchen. I continued to follow her, thinking that if I took my eyes off her, she'd surely break something.
"Okay. I don't think you're going to have much fun here, though. I have to monitor them." I motioned to the upstairs.
"Cool. I'll help you." She said, running off again. This time I literally had to run after her, which annoyed me, because I'd never been that into running. She ran straight to my room and sat down at the desk.
"I don't think you'll be much help." I said, pulling up a chair.
"Ouch, Dave." She said, pretending to be offended. I think she thought that I was joking. I wasn't, though. Kingsley was a giant distraction. She was loud, opinionated, and a beautiful girl. "So what have I missed?" Kingsley asked.
"Not much." I shrugged, hoping that if I made everything seem boring and normal, she'd leave.
"Not much?" He raised an eyebrow at me. "Nice try, but I'm not leaving. Besides, that's a total lie!" She pointed to the screen. "Tanner and Petra were all over each other last time I was here, and now there as cold as the Arctic."
"Yeah." I shrugged.
"What happened?" She pried. I figured she wouldn't let it go, so I decided to tell her what happened.
"They got into a fight, then they made up, and then Tanner kissed Petra, and Petra got mad. They haven't talked since Monday." I explained.
"Oh snap! Real World shit is going down." Kingsley smiled, turning back to the screens. "You should pop some popcorn and play the past episodes. We could have a marathon!"
"A marathon? Kingsley, this isn't a TV show." I rolled my eyes at her.
"Oh, really? This is basically a real life, unscripted version of every reality show! I bet you could sell this to MTV for like a bazillion dollars!" Kingsley smiled, dollar signs popping into her eyes like in the cartoons.
"This is an experiment." I stated.
"A reality experiment." Kingsley said.
"A social experiment." I corrected.
"A friendly experiment." Kingsley suggested, raising her eyebrows in a provocative manor.
"Just leave it be." I told her.
"My brother was right," Kingsley started.
"Stop right there." I interrupted. "Any statement that begins with Carthridge being right, is automatically wrong in every way possible." Kingsley started laughing and she gave me a weird smile. I'd never gotten a smile like this before. It was sweet and she was almost blushing. I think this was a smile of admiration, but I didn't believe I was capable of getting one from such a beautiful girl.
"My brother was wrong. You're not a buzz kill." She said, returning her smile to the screen.
"Carthridge called me a buzz kill?" I asked, getting slightly offended.
"Yeah, but it was a while ago, and I'm guessing things have changed between you two." Kingsley said.
"They've changes enough for him to do this for me." I gestured towards the monitor. He was standing in the corner of the room having a screaming match with Avery.
