ONE YEAR LATER...

Angie

November 2015.

Sophomore Year of College.

Everything has been amazing so far. Even though it's been amazing, the work stress has not been great. There were a lot of sleepless nights. A lot of nights spent in Starbucks trying to get my work done. A lot of money spent on caffeine and candies to keep me up all night. A lot of FaceTime and Skype sessions with my family, friends back home and of course, Harry.

My relationship with Harry has been great. We've had a lot of fights here and there and we've had numerous arguments and misunderstandings for the past year; but not in the verge of breaking up. He's visited me a few times in the past year, he made sure to visit me on my birthday since I had to take up summer classes that time. We spent our 2nd anniversary together as well, which was amazing because despite his busy schedule and my college life, he had the time to fly to Stanford and surprise me on our anniversary. We spent my 20th birthday in San Francisco with my family because that's the closest city near Stanford.

November 4, 2015, I surprised my family by flying back to Sarasota to celebrate my little brother's 2nd birthday. Of course I would never miss that, I've already missed his 1st birthday, I couldn't afford to miss his 2nd birthday. He's grown now, he walks and runs around the house. I've missed him so much that when I surprised them, I cried my eyes out.

I'm not going to lie, College away from home is depressing. Nights filled with me missing my family and my home in Sarasota. Nights filled crying to my parents and wanting to go home. I've never been this independent before. However, there's always an upside to College. I've learnt to grow independent, training myself to the day that I have to live by myself.

Louise and I moved out of the dorms and got our own apartment near campus. We've been deciding this ever since our second semester of our freshmen year started. We didn't want to stay in the dorm so my parents, thankfully, agreed to moving out of the dorm and into a 2-bedroom and 2-bathroom apartment nearby. This is more of a training for us since now we know how to pay our bills and do our weekly grocery shopping. Louise always cooked and she taught me how to cook.

The last time Harry visited was on September, only for two days. He stayed in our apartment for the first time and it felt so good to wake up next to him. He'd cook Louise and I dinner whenever we'd come home from school. I even joked about him being a stay-at-home husband.

I've gained a lot of friends the past year which then made them into my squad. We'd travel the weekends together, spend a Friday night in San Francisco or drive down to Santa Monica to enjoy the beach. My group of friends met Harry and they love him so much, I mean honestly who wouldn't? At times if Harry is in Los Angeles, I'd drive there and stay the entire weekend, but then would have to drive back on a Sunday afternoon.

Now, it's November. It's the same routine ever since. Wake up two hours before my class starts, attempt to make breakfast, and then drive to school. Come home, do some errands, if it's a Friday afternoon—make sure to do the laundry, and do the weekly grocery shopping on Mondays. Skype my parents and then Harry before going to bed or before I have to start finishing my school work. It's been the same for the past 4 months.
