NEW YORK CITY VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
Angie
September.
"I can't believe we're here again," Savannah says as we get our luggage from the baggage area.
Here we are again, the Boys and Girls Volleyball tournament. Last year it was held in North Carolina, now it's held in New York. I am very excited and nervous at the same time because there are really good teams out there and we have a lot of expectations to meet.
There is more pressure for me as a Captain because I have to keep the team to stick together and to motivate them that we will win and that no matter what we do, we're doing it for ourselves, the school and our families. All these emotions are rushing into me as we are waiting for our luggage.
My parents are part of the chaperones. Even though my mum has a few meetings to attend in New York this week, and my dad brought work with him to New York, they were still happy to be able to Chaperone. Which also means, they're staying in the same hotel the team is staying at.
Speaking of the same hotel, Harry is staying in the same hotel as we are but have to keep a low-profile which meant he had to talk to management about keeping the paps away, which I hope they agreed on. And apparently, once I get in the hotel, he has a surprise for me. He arrived yesterday and is all settled in the hotel already.
"Too deep in thought?" Savannah nudges at me and I shake my head to clear my thoughts, I smile at her as we approach the entrance of Newark, "Don't worry, Angie. We're going to place." Savannah says as we step into the bus our team is riding in along with the boys team.
"I really hope so, Savannah. It'd be an amazing way to leave high school volleyball." I reply and take a seat near the front beside the window. I take my phone out and text Harry right away.
Me: Hey babe, we've just landed in New York. We're headed to the hotel now. Where are you?
It is actually getting a bit late. It's past seven in the evening and all I want to do right now is have an amazing dinner with the team, have some prep-talk and take a good shower and then sleep. All these thoughts keep rushing through my head about what could happen tomorrow. We have three games tomorrow and three the day after tomorrow and that'll determine if we get into the Semi-Finals. I'm too anxious to stay still that's why I'm constantly tapping my foot on the floor of the bus or tapping my fingers on my knees. Savannah rests her hand on my knee making me look at her and a flash her a small, worried, grin.
"Hey, calm down. It's going to work out well. We've trained them so hard the past few weeks. It will be worth it. Besides, Harry is here." She winks and I can't help but giggle, he is here to support me. Which is weird. Tyler on the other hand, my ex-boyfriend, is here as well because he's part of the team.
The last time Harry and Tyler saw each other, Harry and I broke up because I kissed that fucking bastard. I didn't know what got into me or why I did that and that was definitely the biggest regret ever. The last thing I want this whole week of tournament is an argument or some kind of jealousy happening because all I want to worry about right now is getting the damn Championship.
