"Want anything?" He grabbed a can of pop from the refrigerator and placed it on the marble counter.
"Got any juice?"
"Uh... Let me check. There's orange, some of Liam's apple juice and looks like some fruit punch?"
"How long has it been in there if you're that surprised?" I laughed and made my way into the kitchen, standing beside him to look in the fridge.
Surprisingly, he doesn't keep much in there-just some fruit, produce and some stored leftovers on a shelf. I picked up the carton and swished it around.
"You see the chunk of something in there, right?" He pointed to a large mass floating in the red liquid.
I nodded slowly. I opened the cap and probably the nastiest thing I've ever had to smell made its way through the air-replacing Niall's house's clean smell with rotten feet blended with molded garbage and dead bodies. I don't think it gets much worse than that.
"OH GROSS!" We screamed at once. The two of us fumbled quickly to get the cap back on and push the carton back onto the counter.
"It says it was best by... LAST YEAR!" My eyes widened and nearly fell straight out of my head.
"Let me see that," Niall looked on the label for the expiration date and read it out quietly. "Yep, a year and a half ago, I guess."
Involuntarily, I let out a disgusted face that Niall reciprocated. I placed the juice in the trash and walked back towards Blondie as he opened his Pepsi and took a sip.
"So uh, would you like anything different?" He joked out with a killer smile.
"Hm, got any fruit punch?" I nudged against his side.
We both giggled like freaks and just decided on taking the monster bowl of popcorn and the bag of M&Ms he bought recently and eat those during the movie. He sat first and put the footrest out, relaxing into the cushions. I didn't exactly "sit" so-to-say, I may or may not have just lay down on the majority of the couch with my legs over Niall's lap. We both shuffled to be more comfortable-my back now on his legs and my head against the armrest, him now slouching-and he placed the bowl of popcorn on my shirt-covered stomach.
I pressed play on the remote and the first original Spiderman began playing. This was both mine and his favorite movie. I had literally asked him "Where have you been all my life?" when he told me that, and we both kind of had a complete moment of 'this is the greatest thing that's ever happened to me'. The beginning started and we stuffed our faces with popcorn and chocolate, pigging out without a care.
I know you may be thinking I should be 'being a lady' or something, but that option flew south for the winter when I put on my pajamas for a movie night with another person. But nonetheless, we both didn't care and the mood throughout the air was still comfortable.
Right now, it's kind of like being five years old and watching a movie with your neighbor's son that you've known your whole life. We're both just enjoying ourselves and living in the moment-just relaxing and not caring much about what people think of us.
"Kaitlyn."
"Niall," I use the same whisper tone as him for my reply.
He doesn't reply. I turn my head from facing the TV so I can look at him. I catch him staring at me, a look on his face like he's been doing it for a few seconds now, instead of just a quick glance. He quickly looks at the movie again and I do the same, only with a smile tugging on my lips. I can't help that one.
"What do you want? Or, what did you want?"
He doesn't do anything once more and I let it slide.
