Even the Strong Cry

Chapter Eleven

Eren was over the moon, since Levi had admitted he had feelings for him everything seemed to be getting better. He felt stronger, more alive, and the best part had come when Hanji had come and told him that he wasn't allowed to stay in the dorms with the other trainees.
"I'm sure you're perfectly healthy again Eren, but I don't want to take the chance. Until I get the results from your blood test back you're going to have to move in with a senior officer, and apart from myself the only person who has a free space is the captain. I know you're not going to be too upset about that..."
"Thank you Hanji!" Eren interrupted her by throwing his arms around her neck and hugging her. "That's brilliant news!" Hanji smiled.
"I thought you'd be pleased. You'll be pleased to hear that Levi had much the same reaction as you, although with a lot less enthusiasm I must admit, but that's just Levi for you," she joked. "Now pack your bags and scram!"
Eren did as he was told and within an hour every single thing that he owned had been moved to Levi's house. It was like a dream to him. When he was little Eren had often fantasised about joining the Survey Corps and meeting his heroes, and now he was moving in with the person he admired more than anyone else is the world! It was so much better then any other dream, and what made it so wonderful was knowing that he wouldn't wake up longing for something that couldn't happen, because it was real!
Levi didn't show quite as much joy at the new housing arrangements, but then he never seemed to show much joy about anything, so Eren didn't really mind. Deep down the captain was thrilled, Eren knew that much.
"Eren! You're in this room" Levi was giving Eren a tour of the house, and was just leaving the bags into Eren's room. "The bathroom is across the hall and my room is right beside you, although most of the time I'll be downstairs in my office." Levi headed down the stairs to his office and Eren followed him, imagining how jealous the others were going to be when they found out he'd been in the captains office!
"This is where I spend most of my time-so if you want me for anything come check here first" Levi said as he opened the door and gave Eren a glimpse of his office. The first thing Eren noticed was the massive grand piano in the centre of the room.
"You play piano Levi?" He asked curiously.
"Sometimes, It's just a hobby to pass the time when I'm not working," Levi replied.
"Is there any chance you could play something for me?" Eren asked, blushing slightly. Levi nodded and sat down on the piano stool. The minute his notes touched the keys everything in the world seemed to disappear, everything apart from the beautiful man playing the piano and the soft sounds that the music was making, filling Eren with so many emotion he could hardly explain, the music familiar and comforting, but yet strangely sad and yearning at the same time. When eventually Levi stopped playing all Eren could do was stand there numbly, no words coming out but so many thoughts coming into his head. Suddenly he realised where he had heard the song before.
"That song...you saw that video?!"Eren exclaimed, his cheeks burning from the blush that creeped up his face.
"I'm sorry Eren, I didn't mean to see that, but I had to check your phone, and I came across that. I'm sorry if you think it was intrusive,"Levi frowned slightly, "I honestly didn't mean to see that, and I didn't even watch the whole thing, but the tune was amazing.
"You think so?" Eren looked up and saw the strange look back in Levi's eye.
"Yes, that's my favourite song now," Levi answered, but in that moment the look was gone and Levi was back to his old self.
"I have work to do now, so go and get settled in. I'll call you in an hour for dinner" with that Levi closed the door and Eren was left alone to unpack his bags.
