Samantha's POV
I was scared.
What if he doesn't feel the same? I don't know if I could bear coming back for him to not be in my life . . . but I have to tell him.
"Asher, I love you. That's why I came back. Honestly, I understand if you don't feel the same . . . but I couldn't bear if---"
My rambling was cut off by his lips on mine. I was stunned.
Does this mean he feels the same?
I closed my eyes, and enjoyed the sparks coursing through my lips. I wound my hands in his hair, and forgot everything else. Nothing mattered. He cupped my cheeks with his hands, and deepened the kiss.
"Ech hem."
We jerked apart, and turned toward the interruption. There was a doctor standing in the doorway, looking quite amused.
"Sorry to interrupt, but I need to check you over Miss---" He looked down at his chart, "Reed. It is a little puzzling that you sponteneously woke-up, especially after your heart stopped. I need to make sure you're okay before I can release you," he looked from me to Asher, "back to your . . . shenanagains." He smiled, and I felt the blush rise into my cheeks.
I just had my first kiss. I speculated to myself.
And I smiled.
