I wrote this while listening to "Time In A Bottle" so get ready for some romance my friends.❤️

"This is too much fun," you laughed along with Rick as you both hung your feet over the dock, looking out onto the sea.

You had spent the day with him since he was getting ready to go on tour and it was the last chance you'd get to hang out with your best friend for awhile.

"Told you it would be," he said with a smile as he watched his toes touch the surface of the water.

You smiled sweetly as you watched him. His eyes flickered up to look out at the waves and the sun hit them perfectly. The slight glimmer made you let out a little gasp at how beautiful you suddenly realized he was. He turned to you and chuckled when he caught you staring. You blushed and looked down at your feet.

"I'm gonna miss you," you stated softly, kicking your feet to keep from thinking about it too much.

He looked over at you, admiring you in the same way you'd admired him just a moment before. He felt a twinge of sadness at your words and the reminder he wouldn't be able to see you for the next few months.

"I'm going to miss you a whole lot more," he said quietly.

You let out a little laugh, "I think you'll be a bit distracted, being a big rock star and all."

He shook his head and rolled his eyes with a smile, "It's not that fun," he said, making you laugh.

"Oh, shut up, you know it is," you said, playfully punching his shoulder.

A silence fell between the two of you as you both looked out at the water again. You silently wished you could stay there forever with him by the ocean.

"Well," you started quietly, "I suppose I should go now."

You began to get up and Rick sighed. He didn't want you to go, but he didn't want his feelings to show. He felt a nervous pit form in his stomach as you stood up and started to walk away.

"Wait," he said as he scrambled to get up, "you can't go yet."

You laughed, "Why not?"

"Because," he said as he walked closer to you, "there's something I need to say."

"There is?" You said as your eyes met his.

"Yes," he said softly.

He moved closer and took your hand in his, playing gently with your fingers as he thought of what words to use. He opened his mouth to speak, giving your hand a little squeeze as he kept his eyes on it while he spoke.

"(Y/n), I think you should come with me when I leave tomorrow," he said, still nervously fiddling with your fingers.

"What?" You said, surprised, "Why? I mean, I'd love to go, but why?"

"Because, I uhm," he stuttered.

You set your other hand over his, calming him down a bit, "Rick," you said in a hushed voice.

His eyes looked up to meet yours, moving back and forth between them with admiration. You looked so beautiful and he felt his heartbeat pounding anxiously in his chest at how close you were to him and the feel of your hand in his. He watched your eyes gaze over his face as you waited for him to speak. He intently looked into them and let out a deep breath.

"I'm in love with you, (y/n)," he said, "completely, and totally in love with you."

You blushed when you heard the little gasp that had escaped your lips. You felt as if this was a dream. His eyes flickered to your lips and he slowly began to lean in, making your breath hitch in your throat. You felt his lips touch yours, warm and soft against you as he moved. You responded and he brought his hands up to hold your face as he sighed contently. You rested your hands on his chest, smiling when you felt his heart pounding quickly against you. He broke away and leaned his forehead on yours and closed his eyes. Your eyes wandered up and you smiled when you saw how peaceful he looked, just standing there breathing.

"I love you too, Rick," you whispered.

You happily watched the sweet smile spread across his face as he registered your words. You closed your eyes as well and listened to his soft breath and the waves crashing against the shore. You stood there at peace, just you, him and the waves. Pure bliss.
