Sorry this took a little bit @MadameVicious ❤️

You stared at the walls of the newly added nursery in your house, trying to figure out where to place a painting. You held it up to a spot on the wall and tilted your head, unsure if it would work. You felt the baby kick and winced a little at the sudden sensation. You rubbed your very pregnant belly, and gave a small smile.

"Just a little longer," you said quietly.

You loved being pregnant for the most part, but today was a bad day. You woke up feeling ill, had trouble lifting yourself out of bed and it didn't help that Syd had to leave early, because he always managed to make everything better. Even on the worst days he could make you laugh.

Your back started to ache, and to your dismay, forced you to set the painting down and give up on decorating your baby's room. You groaned and hobbled into your bedroom, passing the mirror and stopping momentarily to glance at yourself. You looked tired more than anything, but no amount of sleep seemed to solve that lately. You sighed and went to sit on the bed, letting your head fall as you sat there. Your emotions were high due to all the hormones, so you weren't even surprised when you started crying.

You heard the front door open and immediately tried to wipe away your tears.

"(Y/n), darling?" Syd called as he took of his coat and looked around the empty front room.

His smile faded a bit and was replaced with a confused expression as he set all his things down, save the flowers he had brought for you. He walked through the hall and gently pushed open the door to your shared bedroom. He saw you sitting on the edge of the bed, wiping away at the fresh tears that stained your face. He looked at you with sympathy from the doorway before he moved towards you.

"Hey," you said in a shaky voice as you started to stand up, "how was the gig? I missed you."

He gave you a little smile at your effort to ignore the current situation.

"It went well, but you know I'd rather be here," he said in his sweet voice, making you tear up even more, "is everything okay?"

"I'm sorry," you said, hiding your face, "It was just one of those days you know, and I just feel so tired and scared and I-I don't know, I'm just a mess."

He helped you sit back down and quietly sat next to you, his eyes moving with a sympathetic gleam. You looked back at him, almost panicked as your mind raced.

"What if I can't do this," you whispered as you looked down, afraid to look at him, "what if I can't be a mom."

"That's ridiculous," he said almost immediately.

He took his hands and cupped your face, making you look back up at him, "(y/n), listen to me. I am just as scared as you are, terrified even and unsure about what's going to happen. How our lives are going to change. But do you know the one thing that keeps me on my feet about this, that keeps my head from spinning out of control?"

You shook your head as you stayed with his pretty eyes.

A smile formed on his lips as his thumb brushed your tear soaked cheeks, "Knowing that my child has you."

You felt more tears, but this time they were happy.

"Just knowing that makes me realize there's absolutely nothing to worry or be unsure about. Because I know you and I'm so in love with you because you're the most stable thing in my life. You've never let me down and I know for a fact you will never let our child down."

You smiled through the tears that rushed to your eyes with a powerful force. You laughed and shook your head at how silly you felt, unable to stop crying. He laughed along and wrapped his arms around you, kissing the top of your head before he held you tightly to him.

"God, I love you, Syd," you breathed into his shoulder.

He reached behind him and grabbed the flowers he'd brought before he pulled away, "I love you too, darling."

You took them and blushed.

"Oh, and one more thing," he reached into his pocket and pulled out a little envelope.

You furrowed your brow, confused and he smiled.

"The last time we went to the doctor's I asked them to do me a special favor and write down the gender," he said and you filled with anticipation as he ran his fingers along the nearly opened paper, "I've had to exercise a certain amount of self restraint to not open it. I was going to wait till we were with the guys or something silly like that. But," he said as he started tearing it open, "I think I want to do it now."

He opened it up and kept it face down, the two of you staring at it quietly before he leaned up and kissed you out of the blue. You sighed at his touch and relaxed at the soft movement of his lips.

He pulled away and took a deep breath, "Okay," he said before he flipped over the little paper.

Congratulations on your new baby girl.
