Chapter 34! I double updated just for you guys so this should hold you until the next update. You guys owe me some walnut brownies!! As we continue running through the woods I remember the traps. I have to warn Dana because if she falls then that's it for us.

"Wait, there's traps here."I say, out of breath. I'm feeling really heavy because of this baby and it's holding us back. We've been running for about five minutes and I'm already out of breath.

"Traps?"She asks me so I tell her about how they were placed here by Ian and Joel. And how Jared and his dad are called to check the holes to see if I fell in one. She looks at me with pity as I tell her to look out for holes covered with leaves. It should be easier because of the sunlight. I showed her the hole I nearly fell in and we managed to get the bag out with a stick. Luckily, it still contained the water, rotten food, and the money I took from Joel. I tried to read the number Mandy gave me but the rain must have washed it away. We ended up emptying the food and keeping the water. Turns out that Joel had one hundred and seventy five dollars. Maybe we could get a room if we can't make it to the police station before nightfall.

Ian said Joel would be here in ten minutes and that was about thirty minutes ago so I'm guessing it's around 7:30 a.m. If Joel's there then that must mean Ian's free.

"Dana, run faster!" I shout.

She picks up speed and we reach a road in no time. It helped that it was daylight and the fact that she was a girl scout up until she was 16 so she knows the woods.

Looking back at my previous attempt to escape I think I was going in circles. That's why I was so tired too; because I was wasting time and energy.

"We need to flag someone down." She whispers to me and I shake my head no. Right now we're laying in a ditch alongside the road trying to figure out what to do.

"Why the hell not?" She asks whilst trying to sit up. I tell her to stay down because someone could see us and when she said that was a good thing I told her about how the townspeople are supposed to bring me back when they see me. This sent her into a fit of cuss words and threats to Ian. All I could do was just listen and laugh a little.

After some uncomfortable silence I have to ask,

"So, what now?" I don't know where to go or what to do and I hate feeling this way. I hate feeling lost and it doesn't help that we're literally lost.

"We could walk through the woods again." She yawns.

"No, he'll catch us faster there. It's like his playground." He knows the woods like the back of his hand and he'll use that to his advantage. That's why we're not going back there. We might as well run to him with open arms.

We both ponder for a few minutes until Dana speaks.

"Maybe we can find that Jar guy."

"What Jar guy?" What the hell is she talking about?

"You know, the one who was in the basement with us." She starts to close her eyes.

"Wait, I think you mean Jared."

She nods her head."Yeah let's find him..."

"And see if he can help us..." We both trail off.
