Go read now. Why are you still here? It's waiting on you. :) Happy reading guys. Tell me what you think in the comments!

February 27

The delicious scent of bacon, eggs, and pancakes ignites my taste buds as I wake. Did Jared cook breakfast? I think to myself as I sit up to stretch and yawn. I've been extremely exhausted lately between my nightmares and Danny waking in the middle of the night. We moved in last month and a month later he was born. We were released from the hospital on the 24th, three days after his birth. He's six days old now and we've been waiting for Ian to show up but he hasn't come yet.

I sigh tiredly as my feet greet the hardwood floor. I don't wake Jared because he's been pulling all nighters to watch for Ian so he deserves a good night's rest.

Going over to his crib, I kiss his forehead before checking to see if he needs to be changed. I fed him two hours ago so he should be okay. After changing him I place his tiny body back inside of his crib then go to wash my hands.

My stomach growls as I inhale the flavorful aroma of breakfast food so I decide to go to the kitchen to see who's cooking.

Once I get to the doorway I'm greeted by an unpleasantly familiar voice.

"Take a seat, babe. I've cooked just for you and don't worry, I've already fed him." I'm frozen in the doorway of the kitchen as the room spins rapidly.

"No." I whisper while slowly backing away.

He turns to me with a devilish grin, "Yes. Now sit. Don't make me say it again."

I need the gun so I ignore his demand by running to the living room. My hands quiver as I hectically search for the firearm.  But despite my efforts I can't seem to find it. I go from the coffee table to under the sofa, to the t.v stand and still no gun.

"Looking for this?" He's in the doorway of the kitchen, smiling at me with the shiny, black gun in his hand.

"I put it to use." He chuckles at my frightened face.

I have to get Danny. Dread washes over me as I hold onto the wall and run down the hallway to my room. Locking my door, I place my shaking hands and forehead against the door to try to calm my sporadic breathing.

What does he mean he put it to use? I need to clear my head.

"Ava..." I hear a raspy voice croak weakly. Filled with anxiety, I turn around and when I do I wish I hadn't because four bodies lie on the wood floor, staining it with their own individual pool of blood.

Dana is the first person I notice; her light brown eyes remain just as open as her slit throat. I have to muffle my cry of anguish as I slowly slide down the door.

My parents lie lifeless with bullet holes in their foreheads and blood surrounding them. Vomit burns in my throat before overflowing in mouth and spilling out onto the floor. I can't tear my eyes away from the horrible sight and I can't get over the horrible smell. I'm literally glued to the door because I'm too consumed with fear to move.
