Love,

Naya <3

The silence in the car is overwhelming. And not only is it tension filled but awkward as well. To top it off I feel like his menacing stare is burning a hole into me. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, well, I looked away before I could see much of a soul.

"Look at me Ava Rose-Marie Campbell!" The thunder in his voice frightens me as I hesitantly look up. Wait. How does he know my full name? I shake that thought, I'll worry about that later. Think of a way to ditch captain crazy ass.

Just then I have an 'Aha!' moment when I remember my rules for this type of dilemma. 1: Don't anger him. 2: Pay attention to when he's distracted so I can try to escape. And 3: Run for my life. I know they're not the best but that's all I've got.

Okay, looking at him has calmed him somewhat so I slowly move my hand to the door handle. Praying he doesn't notice.

"That's better. I like when people look me in the eye. It's very disrespectful when you don't Ava." Rule 2: I'm giving him my undivided attention so that should distract him.

"Now that I have your attention..." Holding my breath, I turn my body slightly towards the door and he doesn't seem to notice. " Here are my rules for yo-" I grip the door handle, push it open forcefully and make a run for it.

The fresh air gives me comfort and I run with ease thanks to my comfortable shoes and previous track experience. With each thud I make I can feel my hair bouncing up and down. My breathing becomes sporadic the faster I run. I look up to see that I'm in the woods and that's when I come to a halt.

Quickly, I look around me, trying to decide which way to run. I'm lightheaded and it feels like the world is spinning faster and faster with each way I turn. My breath becomes ragged everytime I inhale, as if I'm breathing through a thin straw.

Great, now I'm alone and lost in the dark woods. That's when I think back to my phone. I frantically feel my pockets and my heart drops to my stomach when I remember where my phone is. At home. I can't believe I left my phone. Out of all the things to leave, I would forget that. Rolling my eyes, I start into another steady run. I'm almost to a clearing when I'm roughly pulled back.

I scream when I feel a sudden burning pain in my scalp. He's gripping my roots too tightly.

"If you hadn't run off you would've heard my first rule. Never run from me!" He says while gripping my hair tighter with each word. The pain is horrible. It's like being stabbed with a thousand burning needles.

"Please, please let go." My hands claw at his. The more he pulls the more my head throbs, forcing loud whimpers to part my lips.

"Shut the fuck up!" He yells while dragging me. I don't know where we're going or what he's planning to do but I've made up in my mind that I'm not going down without a fight. Before anymore fear or panic can kick in I start punching him and kicking the air.

Suddenly I'm lifted into the air and thrown roughly on the ground. I try to get up but his foot is on my throat, choking me. I can't breath and I began to suffocate. Panic ensues me as I start coughing and clawing at his shoe, begging for him to remove it.
