Chapter 39 Un-edited

**Hey, if you guys are into the whole dark romance, or any books like this one then you might enjoy my newest story, Imprisoned Purpose. It's basically about a girl who gets arrested on the night of her 18th birthday for murdering her step dad. It's set in a women's prison and she's assigned a guard who turns out to be sinister but she eventually falls in love with the new guard who starts working there. I'm not revealing too much because I've only uploaded the prologue and first chapter. But as soon as I have more written you're welcome to read and get involved with that one, if you would like to. :)

P.S. I still need a trailer for this so if anyone, and I mean ANYONE could help me with that it would make my day. Thanks :p**

It's been one month since the incident at Chris' memorial. I've called them, texted them, and even visited their house but no one has answered. Last week I discovered that they had changed their number and moved. I guess that's why no one responded to me, and I highly doubt that it was Fiona and Mr. Pope's idea; no, it was all Mrs. Pope.

She and most of the people in this town hate me now; and the thing is I really don't care anymore. They hate me because I won't talk about my traumatic ordeal. Which, in my opinion, is a stupid reason to hate someone but I digress. I've spoken to the police for the first and last time. I hate being controlled by Ian but if not talking will save my family then I'm not saying anything to anyone. Because as soon as I do, I risk losing the people I love most.

Speaking of the people I love, it's been extremely awkward between my dad and I. He only speaks when he's threatening the detectives or making promises to kill Ian. Sometimes, I wish he'd go back to being my fun-loving, jokster dad instead of some overprotective father resolute on vengeance. He and I used to be close, like peanut butter and jelly close, but that's changed ever since I decided to keep the baby and stop talking to the police. He thinks I'm protecting Ian but if only he knew I'm really protecting him, mom, Dana, and Jared.

I'm currently in my room, listening to classical music. It calms me and helps me write. While I'm alone in my room I take full advantage of writing in my journal. I usually write music to play on the piano but lately I've been expressing my hurt and anger through writing. Which means I've traded placid music notes for soothing composition.

"Mind if I come in?" He asks while leaning against my door frame.

"Yeah. All are welcome. " I give a closed mouth smile before closing my journal and removing my reading glasses.

He removes one hand from his pocket and points to my journal,"So uh, what do you write in that thing?"

"Really dad? I know you didn't come all the way up here just to ask that." I smirk while ushering for him to sit.

"Yeah, well. No doubt you know your father." He laughs while taking a seat at the foot of my bed.

He clears his throat before smoothing his pants. "I just wanted you to know that I love you and I'm sorry I-"

"Save the 'I failed you' speech dad. Mom already beat you to it."

"Well your mother spoke her peace so I'm going to speak mine." He gives me a stern look and I have no choice but to listen.

I now know where I get my stubborn side from. "Okay." I nod.

"As your father, I...I failed to protect you but I'm making a promise to my grandson." He places his hand on my stomach whilst smiling at it. For a minute I tense up but I relax when I realize he's not going to get angry.
