Chatper 23

The Rescue Part II

From last time:

Maybe she left and didn't hear me? I thought hopefully. I got a nasty surprise when I turned around. She was there in all her angry glory. Red energy came off her in waves, her eyes were fully black, and every instinct I had told me to run.

Leo's POV

The creatures came out of the shadows, gleaming red eyes followed by inky black bodies. Strong, muscled legs working like pistons, and jaws that looked like they could turn a car into scrap metal. These were Lyssa's wolves. I remembered seeing Artemis's wolves. They had the same build, except they held a regal posture, had silver fur, and stunning eyes. Lyssa's were mangy and half starved, though still powerful none the less. I was in a bit of a jam at the moment. The flames in my hand were starting to die out, I was completely surrounded, a goddess who wants me dead is furious and directly in front of me, and my girlfriend is dying in the next room. How utterly fantastic. They all seem to lunge at me in slow motion. Lyssa was savagely smiling as he pulled out a double bladed sword and entered the fray. I felt frozen in horror, unable to defend myself. The feeling my arm was about to be ripped off seemed to jolt me from trance. I smashed one of the wolves to dust ignoring the pain and deep gashes. The battle raged on for what felt like hours. Eventually it was just Lyssa and I. She stared at me, grinning as I tottered on my feet due to blood loss. Blackness was closing in on my vision. The sound of a sword clanging to the ground got my attention. I looked up, shakily wiping he blood from my face to see my best friend, Jason and his girlfriend (also my best best friend) Piper standing there with horrified looks on their faces. The goddess had disappeared after she'd finished toying with me. "About time you two joined the party! You're a bit late though..." I slurred, leaning back against the wall. "Leo we have to get out of here. This place is about to collapse." Piper stated calmly, and for a reason I couldn't pin point at the moment I wanted to drop everything and run. "Y/N." I croaked, pointing at the chamber across the room." Piper glanced at Jason and nodded. He disappeared into the chamber and returned a few minutes later with Y/N's limp form. I cried out a tried to get to her, but Piper was holding me back. The ride home was a blur. Probably due to the fact I was unconscious within the first ten minutes.

I woke with a start and sat up, rapidly breathing. Looking around I saw the familiar white walls of the infirmary. I was wrapped in bandages seemingly head to toe. Will rushes over with his brother Austin close behind. "How are you feeling Leo?" He said slowly, carefully looking me over. "Just great." I replied, my voice was raspy. "Water?" Will glanced at Austin who was already handing me a glass. I nodded gratefully before drinking it. "You're probably still pretty tired, you haven't recovered all the way yet." Will started talking. I had to agree though. I was absolutely exhausted. "What exactly... happened?" I asked, thinking back my memory was a bit fuzzy and- "Y/N! Oh my gods is she ok?" I started to clamber out of the cot. Will sighed in annoyance and pushed me back down with one hand. "She's going to be okay... physically at least. We're expecting her to wake up in a couple hours. I let out a breath of air I didn't realize I was holding and felt my muscles relax in relief. "Get some rest Leo. You're going to need it." With that Will closed the curtains, leaving me to drift off to sleep.

Your POV

I did not expect to wake up. So when I did, needless to say I was a little pissed. I was positive this was the infirmary and not Hades throne room. Nico had told me about the many medieval monk skulls that resided there. Nico. That backstabbing- Rage was tearing its way through me as a summoned the little strength I had left to sit up. "I'm going to kill all of them!" I roared, doing my best to stand up. Then they were on me. I didn't have my weapon, but I fought the best I could in my weakened state. I was going to take a few down with me. So I punched, bit, scratched, and hit. At some point one of them must have gotten leverage and I was held down and secured. Looking up into their eyes I saw is was none other than Solace himself. "Come to finish me Solace!?" I spat, looking at the weakling holding me down. He was already on the verge of tears. "Y/N, it's me remember? Will. Come on it's ok. Do you know you who I am?" He said in a quiet voice. He was obviously trying to mock me. Destory whatever was left of me. "Oh I remember you Will." I hissed. "Where's the asshole of a goddess anyways? You holding me down so she can come and finish me!? Come out!!! I know you're here somewhere!" I yelled, searching the room for her. Tears were streaming down Solace's face now. He was full on breaking down. Good. This was my chance. I surged up and bolted. I could finish him off later. At the moment I needed my dagger or any weapon actually. The Apollo kids were after me so I started running, which was harder than I had originally hoped for. I needed to escape though, before they found me. Then I crashed into someone, Nico di Angelo. "Y/N? You're ok!" He exclaimed gleefully. I wrapped my hand around his neck, he would be the first to go. He pushed me off easily as he saw Will running around corner. "Nico! You caught her!" He shouted just as I bit Nico's arm in an attempt to make another run for it. He cursed, but didn't let go. I was furious and so very extremely tired. Nico tried to put me into a false sense of security and let me lean on him, but I'd rather die than go near him again. I would go down fighting. So I fought tooth and nail until blackness over came my vision.

Jason's POV

Of course it had to be the summer solstice. The time Dionysus left camp to go to Mount Olympus. News of Y/N's rampage had spread through camp like wildfire. I shook my head slightly, looking at the ground. "You ok?" Piper asked, already knowing my answer. "Am I ever?" I sighed. "I just don't know what to tell Leo. What are we going to do? Restrain her for a week? Dionysus just left yesterday. He can't cure her madness if he's on Olympus." I pinched the bridge of my nose trying to stop an oncoming headache. "Jason, stressing isn't going to help anything." Piper stated. She was right. If we were going to solve this then we had to think clearly.  There has to be something we can do...
