Chapter 11

Leo's POV

My team put me on border patrol near the creek. I walked back and forth, quickly getting bored. I wish something interesting would happen, like Y/N stopping by. I thought, bored. About ten minutes later there were sounds of crunching leaves coming straight towards me. "Come on Y/N, I'm positive he's this way!" Came a sickly sweet voice I recognized to be Drew. What's Y/N doing with Drew? Maybe I should hide and follow them... I thought, formulating a plan. I hid behind a bush and waited. Within seconds Drew stomped into the clearing, with Y/N following behind her. "Y/N sit on that rock over there!" Drew snapped, pointing to a rock nearby. I smirked, waiting for Y/N's sharp remark, but she didn't say a word. Instead she went and sat on the rock, her normally fierce e/c gaze was now dull and glazed over. "Charmspeak..." I whispered angrily. "Oh Leo! I brought someone to see you!" Drew's annoying voice sang out. I didn't respond, I had to get Y/N out of this. "Leo. I said come out." Drew shouted again, some charmspeak in her voice. I knew she wasn't powerful enough to have us both under her control. "Y/N. Find him." Drew ordered. I could see Y/N's dull gaze flicker as it passed over me. Crap! She saw me! I thought, panicking. "I-I don't see him." Y/N's said. "You stuttered." Drew said with a grin. Drew walked over to where I was hiding and dragged me out by the collar of my shirt. "How about we break his heart Y/N?" She asked tauntingly. "Go on Y/N. Finish him." She put loads of charmspeak into the sentence and Y/N took out her dagger and advanced towards me. "Ugh! That's not what I meant! Drop the knife!" Drew snarled at Y/N. She dropped the knife and sat back down. "What do you want, Drew?" I asked angrily. "Jason wouldn't go out with me so I'm going to break his best friend's heart!" Drew stated proudly. "Now Y/N! Let's see how should I do this... Use one word to describe Leo." She said slyly. I could see Y/N trying to resist, then she mumbled something. "Said it louder! I don't have all day!" Drew snapped. "Adorable" Y/N said quietly. Drew's mouth gaped open with shock and so did mine. "A-adorable?" I stuttered. Drew dropped me to the ground and stormed off. I sat there grinning like an idiot. "Leo? Where the hell are we? How did I get here?" Y/N asked, rubbing her head like it hurt. Then realization hit her, "Capture the flag! Later Hothead!" She yelled, picked up her dagger, and took off. "Hey! No fair! I yelled and ran after her, but she was long gone.

Your POV

"Leo? Where the hell are we? How did I get here?" I asked, my head was pounding and I couldn't remember anything from the last twenty minutes. I realized we must still being playing. "Capture the flag! Later Hothead!" I yelled picking up my dagger that was laying on the floor and running towards his flag. My head was pounding, but I did my best to ignore it and push on. I saw Jason guarding the flag and Travis distracting him while Connor was struggling to sneak by him. I ran past him, light on my feet. I grabbed the flag and ran, I was feeling light headed, but I kept pushing on till Nico stopped me. "I'll run the flag over, you stay here and take a breather ok Y/N? You look like you're gonna pass out." He said taking the flag from me as I slumped down against a tree. I heard our team cheering, but the noise made me nauseous. "Y/N! Are you ok?" Someone shouted. I groaned, shutting my eyes. I felt someone pick me up a I weakly shoved them away. "I know you don't like this Y/N, but I'm taking you to the infirmary." The voice had gotten softer, but the light was too bright. I buried my face into the shirt of whoever picked me up. They smelled like machine grease and cinnamon. Must be Leo... Leo carried me over to Will, explaining the situation, he said something about charmspeak. Will tried to take me from Leo, but I refused to let go of him. So Leo trekked all the way up to the infirmary with me in his arms. After that everything faded into darkness.

I woke up to a white room with windows filtering in pale light. My head no longer hurt so I sat up to see I was in a cot in an otherwise empty room. "Leo?" I croaked, trying to figure out where I was and what day it is. "I'm telling you Leo, she's still not awake!" I heard Will protest. "It's been two days! She HAS to be awake!" Leo's distressed voice rang out. "Please I promise I'll get some sleep after. Just let me check on her." He pleaded. "Fine." Will consented. I listened as their footsteps rapped against the floor. I must be in the infirmary. I concluded. A moment later the door opened and Leo stumbled inside with a concerned Will following behind him. "Y/N!!!" Leo shouted, racing over to my side and tackling me in a hug, but treating me like I was unbelievably fragile. Will rushed over and started checking my vitals. "What happened?" I asked, but my throat was raw and dry. "Drew happened." Leo growled. "My team still kicked your ass, Valdez." I said with a weak smile. "You get charmspoken, call me adorable, are unconscious for two days while I'm worried out of my mind and one of the first sentences you say to me is My team kicked your ass, Valdez?" He questioned, somewhat angry, but I could tell it was from exhaustion. "Wait? When did I call you adorable!?" It was my turn to be angry now. Leo was caught of guard for a moment, but quickly smirked. "Does that mean I managed to steal the heart of the Queen of Thieves, herself?" Leo teased. "Leo Valdez. You will tell me what happened right now!" I demanded. "I'm pretty sure anyone could tell you, Y/N. When he wasn't here watching over you like a hawk, he was blabbing on about what happened to someone. The whole Camp knows at this point!" Will interjected, shooting Leo an exasperated look. I was fighting off a blush at this point, but obviously Leo was too. "Care to tell me what happened?" I asked sarcastically. Will quickly explained what had transpired and needless to say I was extremely embarrassed. "Ugh!" I pressed my face into my hands. I got up and started to walk out when my arms were grabbed and I was dragged back into the cot by Will and Leo. "I'm fine. I'm leaving to go kill Drew." I said trying to get up again. "No you're getting rest." Leo said, suddenly serious. "Says the boy who hasn't slept in two days." I retorted. "Hmmm... You're right I better get some sleep then!" He said before sitting on top of me. "Leo get off!" I groaned. "No I'm alseep now." Leo said, burying his face into my neck. I blushed bright red. "Oh... I-uhh... Ok then." I stuttered, completely losing my nerve. He looked up and laughed. "What's so funny, Leo?" I asked angrily. "You're cute when your flustered." He said smiling. "Whatever let's just get you back to your cabin so you can get some sleep." I said, trying to get up. "I wanna stay here!" Leo protested, refusing to move. "Fine you can stay here, but I'm going." I said trying to move again. Will awkwardly cleared his throat. "Uhh... I hate to break it to you Y/N, but you still need to stay here and recover your strength." He told me, trying to gauge how angry I would get. I sighed in defeat and stared at an overtired and overexcited Leo who was still sitting on top of me. "Leo get off. I need rest and so do you." I ordered, laying back down and closing my eyes. No response. I open my eyes again to see him asleep, still trapping me here. I pet his curly brown hair and drifted off to sleep not sure whether to hope this was a dream or not.
