Song of the chapter: Everything In It's Right Place by Radiohead

Dinah stares between Nate and I, the keys jiggling in her hands.

"Open the door." Nate demands, causing me to jump at the sound of his voice.

"I don't have the keys." I stutter out, a sob chocking me, tears blinding my vision.

"Does she have it?" He growls, referring to Dinah.

I stay silent, my eyes steady on Dinah. I can hear her crying, my heart aching at the depressing sight.

"Tell her to open the door." His grip on my arm tightens.

"Princess, open the door please." I try my best to say, knowing Dinah doesn't want to.

Dinah hesitates, unlocking the car though. Nate opens the driver's door, pushing me in. He closes that door, opening the door behind mine. He tosses Dinah's bag next to her car seat, closing that door.

An idea pops up in my head, as Nate walks away from the car.

"Baby, give me the keys." I tell her, Dinah passing them to me.

I start the car, quickly pulling out of the driveway, locking the doors instantly.

My phone rings again, making me jump. I pull it out, answering it.

"Hello?"

"What's wrong? Are you guys okay? What's going on?"

I slam on the brakes when I see Nate at the back of the car.

"Shannon, Nate is back." I explain, seeing Nate hold a scary look. "I need you to track my phone, alright? I love you."

I end the call, hiding the phone under the seat. Hopefully, Nate didn't see it. He comes around to the passenger door, yanking on the door handle.

"Unlock the door, Ayana!" He yells, his voice slightly muffled.

I do as he says, Nate quickly getting into the car.

"Where am I going?" I whisper, my eyes steady on the steering wheel.
