Chapter 40

I stayed kind of quiet while we filled out everything and paid the bail bonds lady. I still don't know her name. I kind of don't care to. I'm worried about Harry. I do love him and this all shouldn't have happened. This all wouldn't have happened if I just stayed at home today.

I placed my hand on my swollen belly as we waited to the jail to release Harry. I do hope our baby is okay. I know I've been so upset today. I know I'll feel better once Harry is out. I'll probably still feel terrible about this. He would have never been here if it wasn't for my past or if I listened to him. Our baby never asked for any of this either. I hope this is all over with by then and we have things figured out. I just want our baby to have a happy life and not grow up around all this.

I sighed, leaning back in my chair. It feels like we've been here for hours. I love how they're just taking their time with everything. These chairs are so uncomfortable. Liam mumbled, "Are you okay?"

"I will be. I'm just extremely uncomfortable right now."

He nodded, playing on his phone. I'm sure he's been talking to Sophia. I feel bad that he's here with me instead of at home with her. I guess I would understand if Harry had to do this for him. Liam seems like the good one though. I can't see him getting arrested like this. I started messing with my wedding ring. I'm just ready to see Harry. I'm not sure how much longer I can just take sitting here and waiting. It's so boring and I want him to be okay. I know his hand was bleeding earlier.

After about 20 minutes the door finally opened and I saw an officer leading Harry out. I can't help but smile. I got up, hugging him. I can't believe this. I felt him wrap his arms around me, kissing the top of my head. I'm so happy to be in his arms right now. It's crazy knowing how much I've missed him. I do feel terrible about everything too. I just want to stay in his arms forever to make sure this never happens again. He kissed the top of my head, "Maybe we should go home, love."

I pulled away as he softly pecked my lips. He wrapped his arm around my waist before shaking the woman's hand. He mumbled, "Thank you."

She nodded, "Hopefully I don't have to bail you out of here again."

He nodded as she walked out. Liam mumbled, "Let's get out of here."

Harry pulled me a little closer to him as we walked out to Liam's car. I can tell that he's happy to be out of there. He should have never been in there in the first place. He was trying to protect me. I know we're going to have to talk about things. He opened the door for me before getting in beside me. He intertwined our fingers as I leaned into him. I feel a little better that he's out of there for now. I know he has a court date still. I'm sure it's going to go well. I don't want to think about that right now. We have a little bit before that. It's the day after my next doctor's appointment. We have other things going on that we can deal with before that.

We all stayed quiet as Liam drove back towards my studio. I don't mind. I'm just happy enough to have Harry back around me. What happened was just ridiculous. Harry looked at Liam, "Thank you."

He nodded, "You would do the same thing for me."

Harry nodded, getting out of the car before helping me out. He closed the door, wrapping his arm back around my waist. He asked, "Do you just want to ride with me?"

I nodded, "I would rather spend some time with you."

He smiled a little bit before opening his car door for me. I got in before he closed it behind me. He quickly walked around, getting in. He intertwined our fingers as he started driving. He squeezed his hand, "Are you hungry?"

I nodded, "I haven't ate anything today."

He shook his head, "You should eat, love. I want you and our baby to me healthy."
