"Shawn, I'm sorry about her." Camila's fingers grazed my arm. My heart pumped as my chest heaved up and down.
"What am I supposed to do now? That was our last hope." Tears continued to seep through my eyelids. I hate everything that I'm going through. I can't even trust myself to drive without giving into temptations. Camila has been the anchor to my boat, but for all of the good reasons. If I lift the anchor up, I'll sail away and be lost forever.

"We'll get through this together. As stupid as that sounds, we will." She began to drive on the dark concrete road. Being in this car with Camila was the only thing holding me back from jumping out. I wouldn't even jump out because I have "suicidal tendencies," but because I'm just tired of running into dead ends.

"Can you promise me that you won't leave me alone? Like, ever? You're the only person that makes everything better for me." I mumbled, leaning my head against the hard window rolled up.

"Of course, no doubt about that." She spoke without hesitation. My heart felt fuzzy. "I'm always going to be there for you. Will you always be there for me?" The window became to be heated from the hot rays of the sun. I slowly lifted my head off of it and faced her.

"Yes. If you're there for me, I'm there for you. I love you more than you think." She licked her lips, rotating the steering wheel to the left. I was able to see a smile appear on her lips after my reassurance to her.

"It's always nice to know. Thank you." She spoke with such a soft yet confident tone in her voice.
