A/N: I dedicate this chapter to claudiaaa. I was supposed to dedicate a chapter for her from my other story but I’m kind of having a difficulty in continuing it so I decided to dedicate from this story instead.
Chapter 2: Jamie and Clandestine
The other girl’s POV (Jamie)
“Is this seat taken?” someone asked.
“No,” I replied as I took a bite of my sandwich.
He sat beside me.
“Hey, Jamie,” he said.
“Hey, Clan,” I said back.
“How’s it going?”
“How’s what going?” I asked back.
“Oh you know… Your life.”
“It’s fine. By the way, where’s your twin sister?”
“She’s probably practicing ballet somewhere,” he said.
“And that’s why you sat with me,” I supplied.
“You’re giving me the cold shoulder,” he said, ”We’re friends, right?”
I laughed. “Of course.”
“Remember when we used to pick dandelions on the huge field near our houses when we were younger? And then one afternoon we told you to close your eyes because we have a surprise. When you opened them you can’t find us anywhere and then you cried because you thought Stel and I left you but the truth was we were just hiding. You didn’t talk to us after that. We had to apologize to you with vanilla ice cream so that you could forgive us. The next thing we knew is that you moved somewhere before fourth grade.”
“Don’t be such a nostalgic king, Clan. You moved here the summer before middle school. So you didn't miss out too much,” I said boredly.
“I still remember your face when you saw us walking down the hallways. It was epic!” he laughed.
“But Stella didn’t remember me, did she?”
“She did,” he shrugged. “She just… I don’t know. Maybe she just didn’t know that we could be as close as we were when we’re still kids.”
“You don’t need to lie,” I said. “It’s because of her popular friends, right? Those twits. They think I’m a loser and Stella doesn't have loser friends.”
Clan fell silent.
“You don’t have to hide the truth just to make me feel better,” I said, smiling.
“You’re a strong person… If I were you, I will be probably somewhere where I can’t be taunted and backstabbed by them. I just can’t believe my sister has friends like them,” Clan said encouragingly.
“Whatever," I said then rolled my eyes. "Let’s go. We’ll be late for class.”
He smiled. “That’s my punctual slut.”
I looked at him incredulously. “What did you just call me?”
He grinned and then laughed.
