"Get down!"

With about ten armed men pointing their guns at me, I couldn't really obey and 'get down'. I'd get shot right on the spot.

"Does it look like I can?" I hissed back to the person, slightly frustrated by the whole situation.

Someone stepped in front of the men, holding nothing but a cigar to his mouth.

Well, he doesn't look too harmful.

But with the cigar now in his hands, I can think about all the possibilities he can do with it.

"My, my. You've grown Madelyn." The man snickers, bringing the cigar to his mouth again.

Who the hell is he?

"It's Maddie to you," I was on the verge of pissing my pants because I'm having a small talk with another psychopath.

Although I decided against it. I didn't want Xavier to think I still needed diapers.

But oh lord, am I terrified.

Showing no signs of weaknesses was the only thing that's going to get me out of here alive, again.

"I want something from you, Madelyn." He grins wickedly, making me grimace in disgust.

"Don't you and Vladimir want the same thing?" I scoffed. From this point on, I know that when men in suits come charging at me with guns, there's a 99.9% that they're as dangerous as Xavier.

"I can't lie and say no. Although Vladimir and I want to rip out each other's throat in the process." The man chuckles, "But I mean, a little teamwork for us both won't do any harm."

Vladimir and this guy working together is a fate worse than death.

"What are you going to do? Take me against my will and sell me off?" I crossed my arms. Where the hell is Xavier?

"Ding, ding, ding. Correct. But not quite. The price on your head increases 1 billion each 3 months. Right now, you're only 90 billion, and I'm not satisfied with that number." He fakes a frown, taking a drag from his cigar.

My eyes widen. My price increased another 10 billion and now I'm like the living form of a bank!

"I'll see you whenever you're "satisfied" then," I said, recomposing myself.

"Ah, ah, ah," he waves a finger at me. "Not too soon. I'm not letting you go just yet. All the hard work I did to find you, we have a lot of catching up to do." He smiles eagerly.

"Let's go grab some lunch, Madelyn. I have a couple of questions for you."

________

It took us about 10 minutes to reach a fast food place called "QueenB". The man, who I still haven't yet figured out his name, was nice enough to not tie me up, saying that people would get the wrong idea. Which wrong idea was he talking about?

We went inside, situating ourselves at a table in the corner; two of his guards outside and two inside, sitting near us.

My eyes darted around the small place. Maybe I could escape and call Xavier.

"If you're thinking that your lover boy is coming to save you, you need to stop daydreaming so much. You see Maddie, you're all alone."

"Like I don't already know that." I sighed, just wanting to go home. But what did I mean by home? My apartment was the only thing I had left of "home". The rent was due about a month ago, and my stuff was probably thrown out somewhere in the streets by now.

"How's Alexei?" I blurted out after the waitress gave us our menu. All Russians are connected, even if they hate each other's guts.

But what can I say? I want to check up on the man that made my life a living hell on earth.
