I let out a squeal, shutting my eyes tight as I expected to fall flat on my butt.

But I thought otherwise, as the wall seems to have arms that sprouted out and saved me from my glorious fall, bringing me to its chest.

My eyes fluttered open, letting me gaze upon a familiar godly face. Too godly.

Xavier.

I sighed in relief, burying my face into his chest, "You're late."

He didn't reply, only grunted in return as he kept his gaze on the two men that were sprawled on the floor.

"I see you did fine without me." The corner of his mouth twitched up into a smirk.

I sighed again and buried my face deeper into his chest, inhaling his scent. Strawberries and coconut. How can a man smell good and look good at the same time?

Xavier broke our 'hug', taking out his phone and said a few commands to whoever was on the line.

He grabbed onto my arm, tugging me along as we walked out of the tunnel. I looked back to the place, progressing what happened just a few moments earlier. I almost died in there and no one would even know.

________

We walked for about 15 minutes, nearing the same building earlier.

I stopped and stared up to look at the 27 story building, remembering what Dmitry said. It was the Lutitia Hotel. A pretty hotel for pretty dangerous Mafia Kings to hang out.

Xavier went in first, not bothering to hold the door for me as it almost smacked against my face. I huffed. Such a gentlemen he is.

Jogging up to Xavier, I hid behind him when I noticed the murderous stares I was receiving. Sorry, but it's not my fault that I got involved in this mess.

Technically, it is. My subconscious butted in but I shooed her away.

A different girl greeted us this time, worse than the one before. Well, not exactly worse. She was just too pretty for me; it gives me anxiety to just walk with her.

This time, we made it into Mr. Santiago's room without any disturbance. Judging by a woman situated on his lap, we were the ones disturbing him.

Xavier's face remained as calm as ever but my mouth hung wide opened, gaping at the boss and the assistance. What is this? Office romance?!

Mr. Santiago didn't seem to mind as he acknowledged us with a smile, the girl climbing off and took a seat on his desk.

"Saverio, nice seeing you again my friend," Mr. Santiago held a hand out for Xavier to shake, "And who is this beautiful lady with you? One of your whores?

Xavier took Mr. Santiago's hand, shaking it as he smiled and replied, "Who's the chick over there? One of your daughters' best friends?

Mr. Santiago clenched his jaws but he continued to smile, turning his attention to me, "Ms. Deven. It's a pleasure to meet you." He held my hand, lightly kissing it.

"Likewise Mr. Santiago." I smiled, nodding.

"Please, just call me Elijah," He winks, returning to his leather chair and sat down.

"Take a seat Ms. Deven, Mr. Luciano." Elijah ushered, telling the women sitting on his desk to get a bottle of red wine.

I sat my butt down on one of the cushioned chairs, eyeing a file on Elijah's desk. It screams 'Contract'.
